my honest opinion here is: alright, hestia is truly wants the justifiable ending for the helios and diana, BUT i think she often forgets that kaelus is indeed the MARQUIS of the empire. unlike hestia, kaelus actually is living in this timeline as a high ranking noble of the empire cannot wish to not help helios because of the personal reasons. he must have been calculating the consequences the empire going to face such as civil war/the pressure of aristocracy/and the authority of the imperial family. hestia might want to go for fuuuuullly justifiable way to teach them how to reflect their actions, however, she doesn’t think of consequences, why she would tho, this is just a story and all her wish is this. but, even if they reflect BUT external and internal affairs would about to be in chaos status which of course the imperial family wouldn’t be able to take care of but kaelus would cuz unfortunately he is THE MARQUIS as there is no other high ranking official other than him. he’d have to clean after them which would put him in a heavier situation and honestly hestia would be going crazy out of work load. cuz imagine, if imperial family authority was weakened, the aristocrats would pressure them everything for their goods, and kaelus would have to deal with them all the time to keep the empire together. so i think, he did a good move. keeping the luncheon to diana and taking the dinner themselves. because this is literally the best way to show helios and diana that they should behave in front of the marquis couple and keep the relationships in decent. so yeah, although we would want that they would mess up with everything, the consequences are just too heavy to bear so i agree with kaelus. but also can understand hestia tho.
