Clearly (knowing that he’s been alone due to his parents being out of the picture) he’s lonely and is just a teen so he should’ve been understanding. Also, the comments are weirdly childish. Like, quite a lot of the comments even from earlier pages radiate minor speech (?)(dunno how else I'd even word it)
There's just something about their sentiments towards characters that reminds me of minor fujoshis and a bl obsession. Which I don't find often in a comment section of a story that's meant to be more 'realistic'? Pretty interesting though

It was short but family stories like the old man are my favorite things to read about. Backward parents who want the best for their kids but fail to realize the kid doesn't want what the ideal their parents have, and ending with the parent admitting fault and accepting that their kid is happy in their own path are always a good read. It's a simple plot but man, parental acceptance stories hit me hard the most
