I feel so sorry for the two of them. Dekis and Medea could have lived another, better, more peaceful life and could have enjoyed a beautiful childhood together.
If it wasn’t for their father, I mean. Greed, anger and violence, over competitive thinking and the need to be the one in power, to have it all. The exposure of them to their toxic father and his way of thinking, as well as how he raised them and manipulated them at such a young age was honestly the worst thing which could have happened to them. Truly glad that the both of them had their strong own mind and way of thinking even tho there are red flags too.
But remember: this is not how most of the people/children in abusive and toxic relationships think and react. So if you are in a toxic relationship right now or maybe will be in one in the future: remind yourself that toxic relationships are not good for you and if you get the chance to get out of one, you need to get out of it.
Dekis did the right decision to cut off the contact with his father. Even if it meant to leave Medea, in the end you have to think about yourself first. Put yourself first and value yourself, it's the most important thing you can do.
