I don't know for sure, but I feel like she's going train the entire time she's at the estate. And when she comes back to the capital she'll be badass and finally have the strength to kill Khalid. Also, I highly highly doubt Khalid is the ML, the story is hinting towards the fiance beings the main love interest.

Like literally, she is the heroine. Every single other character ml is a disgusting villain, even Melissa’s weird-ass brother.
The plot is good but too complicated. For that reason, I will be dropping this amazing book.
Her father is the only reason that she was clingy to her ex.
I really like this but I hope she will speak her mind more often. Also, i hope she tells her father about how she feels about him. I like the relationship between the ml and fl. Her ex is very annoying and self-centered. He never paid attention to her and used her like a toy.
