I don’t get it the MC can be a father to a bear and the bees, uncle to bunnies, best friends with a cat, allies with a bull and a mouse, caretaker to a talking tree. But you guys draw the line at a romance? His not exactly surrounded by humans is he. The next best thing is a dragon that can turn human. She isn’t even a child it’s a case of if dragons live for over a thousands of years then obviously a dragon thats only 100s of years will be considered young if she is allowed to manage the tower by herself independently then she must be at an age that isn’t considered a child by dragons but a young adult. Realistically in human form she is an adult. We can’t judge their relationship because they have never met irl they only communicate through the tower message thing.
I don’t really think most ppl are upset over Aileen being a dragon or the persecution of her being a child. I think it’s just the fact that the story is adding a romantic element involving MC when a lot of the story’s appeal is the platonic slice of life vibe the series is built upon. Additionally there is probably the fear of the story becoming more stale and cliche (I’m already dreading this “my grand daughter is too good for you” bs it looks like we are going to have, and all the unnecessary drama that’s going to bring) with the introduction of a love interest.
I’m not strongly against the idea of them being a couple, but would prefer them saying friends as romantically things have been very one sided for Aileen and the MC seems to only see her as more of a closer friend/younger sister. However, I would love for the author further exploring Aileen’s feelings and giving her the chance to confess for closure as I think that’s would create a lot of deep development for the two characters(she’s fun rn but under explored).
Ermm Aileen is a dragon she is in no way shape or form a child or childish. We don’t even really know much about her and i’m sure more of her character will be revealed if and when she can take human form and leave the tower to physically interact with other characters. At best she is naive, curious and a little demanding, that’s because she is on her own in that tower. There is nothing familial about her interactions with MC to claim she is like a little sister to him. He treats the others like family but they are monsters we have no idea how he would act with someone who can take human form and be around him for long periods of time. We don’t even know her age in human years.
I read the novel honestly there isn’t anything in there that’s original, i will give the author credit for saying the seme is a psychopath and has no empathy whatsoever but honestly they could’ve delved into his condition even more and made it more part of the story rather than just saying he has a condition that’s why he acts this way. It would gave his character that extra touch and made readers understand him much better.
The bottom has no personality, no character, little to no self worth or esteem he is pretty much a door mat from start till finish. So do not expect any character development with him. He remains passive.
The novel annoyed me because it relied very heavily on the seme being an asshole and the bottom being a clueless dimwit with no real nuances in the plot.
To me i found the novel to be very unoriginal and boring. That relied heavily on abuse etc… strip that away and there isn’t really a good plot or characters.
Kang said some straight bs to his own boyfriend needing more experience dating other people blah blah blah and basically said he didn’t think the relationship would last because of age gap and experience something he should have mentioned a long time ago if that was his thought process. The whole point of someone younger being introduced is for kang to learn his lesson and for Yiyoung to experience being chased by someone closer to his age it can be a testing time in age gap relationships because these types of insecurities do pop up and need to be addressed. This is a 3rd wheel that I don’t mind because it makes perfect sense for the dynamics in the plot rather than a pointless love rival.
He’s not even a love rival, Yi has no interest, not the slightest…too busy simping over Kang.
What you said is right. And clearly Kang has insecurities, he definitely regret saying what he said. He thinks he’s too old for Yi and that he will date more people than him, and when he said that to Yi, Yi felt as if he was thinking they’d be short term relationship which hurt him.
Doyeon just adds jealousy fuel, but nothing much. He isn’t completely useless but he’s useful in I guess making Kang realize, but man is he fucking annoying! Read raws.
Nothing happens in this BL that is nearly bad as what some readers make out it to be i think some are over dramatic about the so called “cheating” which isn’t really cheating. I can’t take y’all seriously with jinx as one of the most of the most popular BL out right now . And when did the author ever say Woojin would get his own side story? We don’t even see his love interest in the main story just a glimpse in the side stories. Just made up imaginary assumptions about side stories now y'all mad that the Main couple of the story has side stories? How does that work? Complaining that the story won’t end but continue to read it anyway. Then complain about the hiatus despite the author health issues which they have spoken about before so which is it? If i was the author i wouldn’t give y'all shit…. Ungrateful mofos
This shit is being read for free taking money out of the authors pockets but steady acting entitled complaining about the story as if y'all could do better. The author wrote their story how they wanted if you don’t like it get lost or at least pay for the chapters then complain.
I think this is so funny because the author literally doesn’t give us shit. The author gives us nothing which is why we’re in the same sex scene for seven chapters . I do think it’s funny that people are mad that the side story has nothing to do with the side character in hindsight, but I think it also goes to show that they’re wasting their characters people love that man and I think he been hurt by the nerd, give him justice that’s all the people want! Americans love their Justice!
I also think it’s so silly to be like jinx exist so by comparison this isn’t that bad like murder is bad but stealing is still a crime like two things can be wrong at once do I care about the cheating however not really because he wasn’t cheating he was just really weird and is a whore and should feel bad. I literally hope everyone succeeds (especially the best friend and the ex!) except that main couple Lord have mercy, but they have too much gay plot armor

Its not uncommon for editors to force authors to stretch a story out if it’s popular and making money, this manga probably sells a lot in japan. I find it hard to believe that it’s the author fault that the arc is basically stagnant and going nowhere. Remember we westerners will complain but the Japanese audience won’t. And typically they care more about them than international fans.
