Those were spoilers that were plastered all over here, bato, and a web novel forum. The spoiler was that Mag made her dead, mute, and blind (or lost in darkness). He wanted her to break and become his pet (beast) and be entirely dependent on him. She would only be able to function in his presence.

She kept her sanity because of her dream walking abilities. Eventually, she encounters her father, who she finds out is a dream demon (her mother was human). She gets her powers from him. They plot to take her back and do so. I don't recall if this was prompted by the discovery of the villa being rebuilt.

Mag goes absolutely bonkers and... I forgot the rest. There was a happy ending with at least one child. What's her face becomes empress, I believe, with that guy.

The problem is that no one can actually substantiate the spoilers because I haven't seen anyone actually claim to read to web novel.

There's a possibility that there is a web novel and light novel; this is important because in many cases, the story is changed a lot when it goes from web novel to light novel and vice versa. Sometimes, the story changes when adapted to comic form, which is what many of us assumed here.

But since none of us really know, we are left to assume the so-called spoilers were lies and that this is how the story was truly meant to be...

Even though the spoilers were, in many people's option, better written.

That was what Mag did to the MC in the og story. That’s why it scared her when she found out Mag re-made the house, because she thought that it was gonna happen based on the og story despite straying from the original plot and setting Mag free and being kind to him.

ummmm okay so. the thing is, most people hate him sm that no matter how much he grovels, it will never be enough for them (which is honestly very valid). me personally, i do slightly sympathise with him after i read through his backstory. i see why he turned out like that, and so I'm okay with him being happy in the end. uhhh but honestly he could've grovelled more, as i said before though if u dont like his character i dont think any amount of redemption will be enough. I HOPE THIS MAKES SENSE????

But did you enjoy his redemption? Or did it left you wanting more ?

I am all up for redemption story where Characters heal . I am just kinda worried I will feel like he is getting it way too easy after what he has done to her from what I have heard . So that's why I am curious what do y'all feel ?

I honestly wouldn't be asking this if they didn't get together in the end but hearing they do makes me cautious ngl . Like uhh after all that how do you make sense of them to be together and make it well satisfactory too ? It sounds hard to pull off . But hey I will welcome it if the story can pull it off tho

Hello I'll put my 2 cents in as someone who just finished this... What I liked about his redemption is that you know why he did what he did and you understand why without justifying obviously he obviously has so much trauma that it affected his ability to have any kind of healthy relationship his trauma made him really fucked up but as the other person said it really depends on you bcs he did a lot of bad stuff to her... Imo I'm all for them ending up together if they start over and I think that's what they're doing
All in all I hope no more bad stuff happen again I don't think I can take it ╥﹏╥

I just don't think they should get back so fast this should take a very long time and honestly I respect her decision wether she wants to choose him or not (tho I think we all know they'll end up together) idk how to put it i really do get the comments but I also feel so bad for heiner he went through something no human being should go through

Also omg I yapped a lot and I can see the perspective of "all he needed to do was to talk about his past and now they're getting back together" which is kinda true but with this one it was idk natural for Annette's character to forgive him so yeah do wtv you want with that info I think if you can handle sensitive subjects like suicide and war and death you should read it

adding onto what the other person said... basically, I think u should read up to the point where they reveal the male lead's back story. if it makes u sympathize a lot (it did for me), and u feel like a bit of a chasing arc, a bit of suffering will make u forgive him, then continue reading it. i remember when I reached that point, a lot of the comments said that no matter how much he suffers, they'll still find it very very hard to forgive him for what he did to the fl (which is very valid tbh, and that's what the majority feels). if u still feel like he's an irredeemable asshole, then I think the amount of groveling that happens wont be satisfactory for u. another way of looking at this is, most complains over here arent that his regret arc wasn't long enough; its that he shouldn't have ended up with the fl after everything happened AT ALL. like okay, she can forgive him but they should've still parted ways. so u should keep that in mind I think. if I were to answer ur original question, I do feel like he could've groveled more, but at the same time its not enough for me to say I'm unsatisfied. that's just me though, and I'm part of a very small minority.

Basically long story short,
Part 1: (sakura blooming scene) Mai finally get into the same highschool as Makoto. (They're now dating)
Part 2: (Makoto hugging mai) He finally tone down his psychotic tendency. However now he directed it to Mai. (Obsession wise)
Part 3 : (Mai being on his lap) She's basically telling how her brother (atm) decided to keep handcuffing her for 3 days and only letting her go few minutes before their parents return
Part 4 : (Makoto looking serious) Man decides to confess that he and Mai is currently dating and want to apologise and feeling "regret" for ruining the family so much that he wants to hang himself (man is guilt tripping).
Final part : the parents actually supports them (mostly because makoto said he want to khm and hugs him. (Thinking that he's crying out of regret). But Mai corrected the thought in narrative by stating he's actually laughing.
