Making Shinoa someone so important this late in the story feels really forced, just to get something like romantic feelings between her and Yuu.
Dude, seriously, Shinoa is one of the main characters, same goes for Mika, Yoichi, Mitsuba, Kimizuki and Yuichiro.
I can see that each character had it's own moments to show development, Shinoa is still a huge mystery, she's developing because she's the center of the whole chaos. Being born with the main antagonist.
You find it as something forced because you expect something else from the story, you expect to find your fave characters on each single chapter which is something that can't happen at all.
Try reading without expecting them to appear, try to read the light novels and the manga once again until you understand the story
