Just read this so a bit late, but when I saw this panel I took it as Makoto thinking about how Kouta's strong feelings and personality are overwhelming sometimes. The flashback is to when Kouta confronted him because he (Kouta) was jealous over what he perceived as a threat from Arimasa to his relationship with Makoto. When Kouta acts that way he's being domineering and Makoto wants to be just as strong? Hope that makes sense.
