No, I think it's because he's too expressive that it ends up coming off as exaggerated..there are multiple acting styles for example a smile in a tv show wouldn't be acted out the same way in theater (for example the way u can see in disney where when frowning, the person would cross hands and pout lips in a really exaggerated way but you wouldn't see that in a movie)
