I wouldn't say he truly is the villain ngl

He's a victim if anything

Not really like I've seen like worse because Deon Hart is still likeable and he has a backstory and a reason for all of those

He is the villain you just reading a good ones story from their pov.

Yes really. Instead of reading hero's pov you reading from a villain pov which makes you more sympathetic towards him. If you were reading it from people he killed for his revenge pov you would have different opinions. If you just heard about his back story in a note instead of experience it with him you also would feel different. In general I think it's one of the best stories written with a villain as a main character

Same. The author did an amazing job at that. People completely blind to how he's a villain here because of how well written he is.

yeah but he was a victim to the Duke, The Emperor, and even The Demon King..... that was like the whole point of him going crazy and then becoming the warrior. He's not really a villain, more like an anti-hero

Again being a victim and being a villain aren't opposed of eachother. Doesn't matter how much sad his story is he's a villain. You just experience everything through him that is why you can't accept it without bias. He's not an anti hero. He doesn't do anything action that benefits anyone but him and his revenge currently. Do mistake his role here. You reading a magnificent story about a well written villain. Not hero or anti hero or even a victim.

okay ur correct on some parts but no matter if he's a villain or not he's still a victim. that's quite literally a core part of his character.
here is the definition of an anti hero for u: a central character in a story, movie, or drama who lacks conventional heroic attributes.
this describes Deon perfectly, while the definition for a villain:(in a film, novel, or play) a character whose evil actions or motives are important to the plot, does not.
he's not innately or remotely evil, he's just self centered and acting for his own goals.
Anti hero bc he was chosen by the heavens, bc he's a warrior who sides with demons, and bc he acts for himself.

u clearly don't have the comprehension skills to read this work, and is trying to get away with it by using long paragraphs and sloppy writing. Please try reading this masterpiece again if u have even a bit of pity for Deon.

Ah yeah that's true I was just saying cause his actions he did murder people but he had some reasons behind it and I've seen some characters that did some horrible stuff with no justification lol

I did comprehend it well but I guess bias is too strong to look at the character objectively I never said he's not a victim. I said he can be one and still be a villain. Justification doesn't excuse him from being a villain tho. Because worse characters exist it also doesn't wash it. I don't know why people take it in a bad way. He's indeed tragic character but doesn't change the fact that his motivation is selfishly driven by revenge and cost of innocent lives. That's the definition of a villain. If you for example were on that noble who lost his son for another person personal agenda you wouldn't care about how tragic he is. You would say yes you have it really hard but why me an innocent bystanders have to pay the price for it?

Yes I really enjoyed reading this the characters are really complex and it's one of the few you can see the whole process of a villain being made which is such a rare plot these days. Most stories with villains as main protagonist white wash their sins since readers come to hate them but not this one. It actually shows how someone snaps completely and turns to a villain by showing his backstory thoroughly.

wow after seeing ur many replies all i have to say is, u r actually dumb. i've seen many idiots on here but u go in my top 10 hall of fame. i would make an analysis on Deon for u but i think even then, with all the evidence in front of u, would still push ur opinion. It seems no matter what anyone says u won't change, and that's sad. have a good day.

I read enough to see the top is one of the good ones in this troupe. When I was reading the main story I was invested enough to finish it. But the side story just showed me how much more potential this author has. They legit wrote one of the best side stories they are really talented in writing "what happens after they dated" which is rare in romance in general. Which is kinda making me sad? Like common author nim you clearly could make better main plot that isn't cliché rape
