Here are four key points that made me dislike this story:
(CONTAINS SPOILERS, from the novel)
1- The author rely way too heavily on the fact that Tia never got over her feelings for him (she start blushing when he still haven't done anything to win her over yet) when she had no reaosn to love the first Ruve in the first place. It is not like they spend a great childhood together, since he started humiliating her when they were young. Apparently, love don't need a reason and no matter what you have gone trought it will survive. Ruve might not have done anything in the second timeline, but Tia still remember. That alone make him the worst possible love interest. By the way, First timeline's did not love Tia because he never actually knew the true her. He didn't even know just how much she was working. He might feel guilt, but I refuse to acknowledge a "love" purely based on physical attraction. That is not love, that is lust.
2- It puts the blame on Tia who was "cold" and so not good enought in the first timeline. The message it convey is "Tia needed to change to cater to the ML interest better to get her happy ending". You can't say this is not true when many readers had the same impression while reading the story. It is not my sole misunderstanding. Case on point: she was perfectly fine with keeping her poker face when put under enormous pressure and the worst possible abuse in the first timeline and then turn into a emotionnal cry baby sometimes worst than Ji-eun was. The fact that she stopped using her social mask all the mask should not change who she is deep down. The Aristia we followed would never have broken down crying for opening a letter adressed to herself just because Ruve had a uneasy look.
3- There was way better choices, be it for the ML or for the ending itself. To get past the problem of why the FL would whooe to get back to the one who hurted her so much, the ML need to be better than the others possible male leads and also a way better version that the other timeline. In TAE, it wasn't the case for both. If Allen not being a good choice can easily be expained, Carsein was better in every way. They had more chemistry, there relashionship made sense and he proved himself time and time again. The "it is because he never said it outloud" does not make sense because his actions spoken for himself. Franckly, Tia is the one who was undeserving of his affection in the story. For Second Ruve better better than First Ruve, see last paragraph.
4- The ML is not actually "better" in the second timeline. He just isn't prejudicied against Tia anymore and didn't have to choose between Tia and Ji-eun because Ji-eun couldn't hide her hatred toward him well enought this time around. He still neglected Tia when she was younger and only got better when he started getting physically attracted to her. He is still cold-hearted with a short-temper and over-all don't deserve her. The "he is loved by is knight" doesn't prove is good character or even character develpment because first timelife's Ruve was also loved by his knights... instead who got someone disliked by Keiran, a good judge of other's nature, who humiliate and use others (like the princesses, Ji-eun or Grace) ect... Am I too rash? A little, because his horrible character is in fact caused by the way he was raised. But that doesn't mean that Tia had to be a Saint and save him from himself. What happened in the second timeline is a ground to not take revenge and to maybe become friends, but not lovers. Ruve would have needed to prove himself way more, Tia should not have been forced to change to become so emotional and on and on...

It's not that Ruve just suddenly realized that when Tia died right? 'Cuz he was actually drugged and manipulated to act like the total dick bag he was in the past timeline by Duke Zena. Normally, Ruve just ignored or treated Tia (and he fairly liked her)-- but due to the drugs and manipulation his mind became clouded.
(That doesn't change the fact that he's still an asshole in the other life. But this also means that the current Ruve that we're seeing is actually his real personalityand shouldn't really be compared to the other one as he hasn't done any drastic evil towards Tia.)
But yanno, evil Ruve even wanted to save Tia by letting her go with her Dad outside of the Kingdom to live peacefully (in the pretense of banishment), but Duke Zena caught wind of this and intercepted this plans by manipulating the majority of the council to have Tia executed. It was just executed badly in the manhwa 'cuz he was smirking for some reason when he was actually dreading the fact that Tia will be executed.
But I agree that Carsein is still the BESTEST BOI, although I eventually found it okay that Ruve and Tia ended up together because the author was able to make it work eventually.
For one, I also agree the questionable things are mostly on Tia's side and not from Ruve, cuz foremeost, seriously, how in the fuck did she fall for an asshole who does nothing but ignore or antagonize her? So a kind Ruve would really work wonders for her heart if she managed to fall for asshole Ruve, and I guess that's why I was fine with it.
If she's too much of a dimwitt to actually acknowledge and disregard the feelings of Carsein and Allendis, then they're much better off with a person who would appreciate their love, and as much as I like Tia, I know for sure that she doesn't deserve them.

The latest updates gave me a stroke. I'm grabbing my hair how frustrated I am with the way that relationship was resolved just like that.
I am very disappointed. #-.-)
