YESSS AN ACTUALLY GOOD PSYCH THRILLER MANHWA ITS BEEN A WHILE!!! i also really hope blondie seongmin comes back please. i know second leads almost never end up with the mc but pls, i needed them to interact more…

who doesn’t tbh, i do too !! that’s probably the rarest trope in bl, usually when it happens it’s because the second lead plays a major role (or rather the story is all about whether the mc will choose him or the ml). I like it when the second lead is just a side character, who we know will never get our mc in the end but i’d still like to see him hit it a few times, in the case of seongmin their relationship felt so real, so human, at the very least their dialogues were incredibly well written. that line where he says “how many time have i laid you down on my bed, maybe his time you should be the one to lay me down […] take me to my home.” it felt so human, i kinda wish we would’ve seen more of his desperation towards yuwon lol !

I dont.I actually don't like that trope at all especially the ones where it's all about who the mc will choose or he if goes back n forth between the two. I'm more of a one on one romance throughout the story kinda reader lol. Not to say I don't like the introduction of any 3rd character....but I only like it if they're just there to cause some problems nd spice things up, create drama n misunderstanding or their feelings simply remain unrequited (kinda cruel ig lol). I usually HATE it when it goes beyond that level of interaction and the mc's feeling start to shake or if they get intimate at all BUT GUESS WHAT, I read this and I hate the ML in most chapters sooo much that even I want Seungmin to get with the mc once just to hurt the ml hahaha . The ml has me seething!!!!!

oh but i agree on that part, i genuinely despises these BLs, i dont have the patience for it. i also prefer when the ml is set in stone, but i wouldn’t mind a bit of a frivolity from the mc now and then, only if it adds up to the story though lmao. i get where you come from lmao !! it has to be done correctly and most of the time the bl who use this trope fuck it up everytime, i wanted it to happen here because the author’s writing is just sublime. you talked about newtonian so i take that you might’ve read the raw, i’m counting every fucking second until the next chapter, i feel like we still have a lot to learn about why they (mostly dohun) both turned out this way. i feel like the second season will only be flashbacks at least most of it, got a feeling we might get back to our character only in s3 (or we’ll get a few more flashback chapters and it’ll be done, but then unless the author decides to encompass everything in it, which i doubt is possible, we might end up missing a lot of info yet.).

anyways, it’s one of the greatest bl i’ve read in a VERY long time, nowadays all the new bl (all respect given to these artists) have fuckass storylines, with plot holes everywhere. i don’t think i’ve ever read a bl that puts so much attention and details to the characters facial expressions (i’ve been dying to find a bl like this, but i always thought this would be surreal as making multiple panels just to show one single change of expression would be considered a waste of space).
I don’t know what you’re you of bl is, but there’s another one that i find to be one of a few masterpieces : Reunion from 2coin, you’ll live it ! reading it was genuinly like watching a movie play out in front me. It’s adapted from a novel !

Reunion! That's exactly my cup of tea lol, I've read it already, I think the author is Lee coin though ? Whatever it's awesome, great novel n manhwa !! Also, what I crave/miss is tops as mc's. Idk maybe it's because most bls are stereotypical n the bottom is supposed to be 'feminine' n kinda fl counterpart of josei??? Maybe..... that's why mc's are all bottoms huff. And for people who enjoyed mc being frivolous or promiscuous for example (I don't judge at all btw, it's their taste n totally okay) I think it would be interesting for them as well, to see multiple bottoms n one top !! There's gotta be an audience for that too mannn ! Even I wanna see a few of those coz I've hardly ever seen one!

Like for example in "Even if you don't love me" there clearly was a 2nd lead (who was also kinda a villain lol) but I totally enjoyed it. That mf just created a mountain of problems and even tried to r-word but the mc actually only thought of him as a hoobae n well-wisher (naive!!!), he hung out with him even though the ml hated it but that never lead to mc's feelings shaking/changing/developing or mc being sexually intimate with the 2nd lead or letting him do anything y'know, so I'd say that's mostly in line with my preferences. That said, the manhwa is PRETTY toxic but INTERESTING, and one of the principal things that make it interesting ( n insufferable) for me is such a dynamic of the 2nd ml who just stirred the ppt sooo much ! Maybe you'll like it too.

Yup it's Lee Coin, I was just too lazy to write both names lol, 2coin is the illustrator. I read a few bl in my fujoshi career (more than a few), and I've come to understand that bl with top mc were not my thing at all. But I do, genuinely despise bottom that are either too feminine/pretty or too bratty. Unchanged man's bottom, Yuwon, is my favorite archetype of bottom lmao : not too feminine looking, depressive, has a lot going on in his life, feels human, etc. When I say frivolous I don't mean it as a character trait either though, I'm just trying to say that it would feel more realistic to see them falter when they're emotionally weak, doubting, etc. (like, nana has to be the most realistic Jose of all time, it's kind of the trademark I have in mind when I talk bout realistic relationship and stories.)

I have to be honest, I genuinely hated "Even if you don't love me", I don't mind if it gets rough now and then between our characters (just like it's getting sometimes between Dohoon and Yuwon), but whatever was going on in EIYDLM was just too much, and it added nothing to the plot, at all. Doesn't mean authors should stop writing these kind of thing, everything is free to write and explore whatever they want, but it would be more enjoyable if it had an impact within the story, whether the act is tackled later on or not. They're also this bl named Non-Zero Sum or something like that, I liked it at first but it just went nowhere, it's the same old story over and over again, you just get tired of it.

no worries lol !! that's also why I dropped it at one point, it felt like everytime we were nearing the completion of a plot, the author would drag it on or not dress it until completely forgetting about it. I did say I didn't like pointless violence but I did love "Sadistic story B", so I guess it just depends lmao (although it's mainly part of the plot in it).

this had the potential to be so iconic but it fell flat. this is one of the very few kidnapping/abuse bl manhwa with a realistic portrayal of a trauma response and hypersexuality, not to mention the seme actually had some sense in him and knew what he did was wrong so he was genuinely horrified and apologetic… BUT THEY RUSHED IT ALL i am so sad, i actually had high hopes bc i was pleasantly surprised when i saw the uke’s initial trauma and how realistic it was. they never properly resolved anything ughhh. ah well.

i thought this was gonna be another gross romanticization of SA manhwa but it is one of the only manhwa to have the top admit to their wrongs and want to learn from them. also shows trauma bonding with both the uke and seme since the seme was manipulated and gaslit. also pleasantly surprised with the accurate portrayal of a trauma response from the uke’s perspective. i am hoping this doesn’t derail and turn into something irredeemable. ;-;
omggg psychological manhwa has been killing it lately, the art is delicious and i need to know the lore… i’m too interested in this to let it marinate!!
