while i dont disagree with ur main point about appropraition and underlying racism (and colorism)....harems were not sex slaves. thats not how harems worked. thats a pretty racist misconception in and of itself (not saying ur racist! just that its a lie that white colonialists from the 1800s perpetrated cause men were legit not allowed in the harem quarters so they never knew what they looked like and then made up all kinds of shit in their travelogues and paintings and "first hand" accounts. its sad that even to this day people have all kinds of wild ideas of what harems were like not based on actual historical evidence from like middle eastern scholars or people who studied ottoman empire specifically.)

Yesss thank you for saying that! Who cares if she was a slave, it's about wrecking other peoples lives. If she wanted to live a quiet life she could. She has the interest of the emperor and even if he didn't like her, he wouldn't let the mother of his child starve. Her position would always be secured and she would at least live as well as any other noble woman. But Rashta is getting greedy. She might be manipulated, however she herself also has her faults. Her constant cry for attention, blatant ignorance of Naviers dislike towards her(she can obviously grab the concept of discontent). Oh and the way she talks in third person is annoying. Also we can't forget that she is a character that is made to be hated. Is she getting too much hate in comparison to Sovieshu? Yes, probably. Does that make her any better? Hell nah. She is a good "villain" Character though.

Bruh I think people need to get their facts right. I haven't read the novel but from what I hv read in this manga I can tell this much that it was the emperor who found her not the other way around. And u tell me, if u were a slave in the past, led a miserable life, got abandoned, didn't know where ur kid disappeared to, suddenly had a emperor come to you saying he will give you a secure life. to ruin someone else's home she would still choose to secure her own life duh like she has already suffered enough. There have been a few times where the emperor has asked her to open up to him if anyone was picking on her or threatening her. Each time she has played it off. She should have told the emperor. He already had his suspicions and seemed more than ready to help her out. Even now after finding out her secret on his own he is planning to turn the country upside down just to protect her and the baby inside of her.

So it is hard to feel sorry for her when she sleeps next to someone who could make all her problems dissapear.

You are aware that she's not Navier and doesn't know her intentions? She thought Navier and her could become friends, which is stupid but she didn't have ill intentions. Those came when Roteschu blackmailed her and he and the Ergy guy manipulated her into thinking the empress wants her out and that she and the baby are not safe until she becomes empress.
Why she's acting that way to Navier? That's what I mean about y'all attacking her bc shesa commoner. She's never learned etiquette. She doesn't know better. She copies her since to her Navier has everything she wants. That's not true but it's what she believes.

I can give her a pass on Ergy because he is being very crafty. She is falling right into his trap. But Roteschu she should have tossed out as soon as she got pregnant. That baby is her meal ticket(ignoring spoilers about the baby). Especially since the Empress hasn't had a child. The emperor already forced Roteshu to recant his statement about her being a slave. And Roteschu isn't allowed to just travel as he likes in and out of the palace. He already has to sneak just to see Rashita all because of the emperor. So she already has a strong ally. She just dosn't want to use it.

Define safe? She really could just ride it out and collect money and trinkets until the emperor is bored with her. She doesn't have to stay there forever, just long enough to get a good footing/money.

Also, it doesn't seem like she was ever pretending to be a virgin or something. She could easily play it off as if she didn't feel like she could turn down the Count's son. She's already lying, and He is likely to believe her anyway. So even if the count's son claims they were in love she can refute it.

She can't act naïve and also have the wherewithal to bring Duchess Tuania down, there is no way in hell she was stupid enough to think that the empress would want to be friends with her when she literally became a concubine, and as a slave she would have to have known the etiquette on how to behave around someone of a higher status, and the chapter after Koshar shouted at her, when the emperor visited her while she was in bed, she could read the situation, she lied until it was clear the emperor wasn't believing what she said and then she denied that she didn't say weird shit to the empress, she was smart enough to infer such facial expressions and the implications of what would happen had the emperor found out, if she can understand this then why can she not understand Navier doesn't want to interact with her, and just because you feel small and insecure and think someone is the ideal person you want to be doesn't mean it is ok for you to completely copy them, what she did with the letter was pretty well planned as well, if Heinley didn't know it was the empress who was the pen pal everyone would have believed her, and the time she orchestrated that they wear the same dress and that she would arrive first to undermine Navier and humiliate her while gaining sympathy from the public doesn't seem naive or stupid, so if you think that she is just some innocent servant girl who is being manipulated into doing random shit and doesn't know what situation or how other people would feel, you are wrong, she has responsibility to her actions, in the end she decided to do all of those things and they were all calculated too, and not badly calculated either, she isn't a bad person and she certainly isn't as idiotic as the emperor, she's in a tough situation but she is still manipulative to a certain extent, she is just trying to survive but not all she has done is to survive, some of it is to undermine and gain more footing, which she doesn't need to do since she is already a concubine, so yeah, she has done some weird and despicable shit but she isn't just a damsel in distress and she has more logic in her than the emperor has had in his head his entire life. So, she has to take responsibility for her actions. I hope she makes it out safe with her two kids and can care for them safely and securely without that piece of shit emperor. But I am still on Navier's side regardless of it all.

That was beautifully written. Hell yeah does Rashta know Navier doesn't like her. Also, Imagine having lived in a household as a slave where most people hate you. After experiencing that wouldn't you know when someone just doesn't want to interact with you?
