This always depends on the artstyle.
Take Lucky Star and co for example; the artstyle heavily influecnes the look sof characters. And that's why sometimes it feels off.
I think it's only because both of the bottoms are young and much smaller than the semes, that's why they come across child-like to people who aren't used to size differences.

I personally have no problem with this, but I can see people having an issue with it if they haven't read many stories like this or are a giant/tiny little runt irl themselves. It makes it much easier to not view them as children just because of the size if you are tiny irl yourself. Lucky me, i guess. XD

The thing is, while I agree with your point, lucky star does not have any sex scenes, so having kawaii art style is ok in my brain. And even when a guy irl is very thin and short, they still have pointy shoulders, boney knees, SOME hair at least, you know? Drawing small male bottoms with smooth edges and no hair is def a little weird for me, and if you look at my profile i have read a bit of stories lol it IS a weird trope that a lot of authors draw fully intentionally to look like that
And yes, I know some irl guys do have smooth, young and femenine features even in their 30s, but they are not common and it almost feels like 80% of bottoms in all the stories are drawn like this... Its strange to me

Drawing basically a VERY feminine male as a bottom is basically the norm in BL tho. No hair, very rounded features, etc.. That's simply normal, no matter where you go unless you are coming across artists with a semi-realistic style or bara-type artwork. And mind you; THESE 'twinks' here are nothing compared to most artist's bottoms, that really do look 99% like a woman. You better get used to it, because finding a rounded, feminine bottom is more common than one that actually looks male.
I got 15+ years of reading BL under my belt, so I can definitely say it's very much the norm across the board. ╮(￣▽￣)╭
I prefer the more male-looking bottoms too, but some artists simply prefer the rounded, cutesy looking ones. That's why it takes some time to find your corner of prefered art and artists. (Still barely found mine tbh.)
Just think of these rounded bottoms the same as those obnoxious, dumb, gigantically doe-eyed schoolgirls from old shoujo stories. Just a different flavour of style one will either like or loathe. (￣∇￣")

Thing is, you have to remember that we are talking ASIAN artists here. Rounded features are not only normal for most but also the beauty standard, which is what the artists know and hence use for their character designs. And remember: Even a 50 year old lady can look like a 25 year old over in asia. And the vast majority of young males DOES look very young and youthful compared to our western men if we compared them based on age. Plus, the standard for drawing 'pretty bottoms' is usually: they must be very feminine. (Some artists prefer drawing manly men instead, but others choose the opposite. Which is VERY much liked by the asian readers, hence why it's so popular and pretty much the norm.)

Just look around and you'll eventually find some artists that have artstyles that are more to your liking. One leads to another and you will eventually find more of what you prefer.
My start for that (and getting away from the girly looking bishounen bottoms) was Akira Norikazu. Amazing art that was so unlike anything I had seen before, which awoke my taste for semi-realistic art and buff guys. XD

But I digress.
My advice in general would be to see it more as a drawing style and pay attention to what non-seme males look like in the stories, that helps remind you that it's not a child/dwarfism situation you are witnessing but just a smaller man with a HUGE and buff seme. Might take a while to get into your memory, but it can work for sure. Exposure matters tho and not many have such huge size differences. So asking for recommendations in Questions or such would be my best guess to find them.

Honestly, it's kind of hard to explain why anyone likes anything. We can't really control the things we like. I think the important distinction to make here, above all else, is that it's fictional. For most people, part of why these types of things do it for them is PURELY because it's fictional. And more often than not, fictional stories AREN'T gonna reflect accurately or realistically to how the world actually is. Which MANY people prefer it to be that way, since they use the realm of fiction to get a break from the mundane and stressful routines of their lives.

Honestly, though, I don't think it, like... Comes from a place of what you MAY be suggesting or implying. The worst I think it could be is a stupid amount of feminization of the uke, which some may argue to be heteronormative, but I'd argue that- it's porn. FICTIONAL porn. I don't think it really matters as long as we don't sexualize and and objectify actual people.

That's not to say there aren't some SUS art styles of erotica, porn, whatever it is, where the Uke genuinely looks WAY too young. I've honestly seen worse than this story (but I don't really see it here, tbh, just size difference and perhaps a bit of feminization of the Uke).

That being said, I think it's kind of about luck. Some things are just more popular than others. So if you're into realistic types of depictions rather than stereotypes, then you don't have as large of a pool to pick from, but there's simply not much you can do about it. There are stories though. Manga that definitely better fit your tastes. I get that it doesn't lessen the disappointment if you're really into the story.

Unfortunately, something that MANY people like is size difference and pretty/cute people getting fucked. For some people, the thing you have the biggest problem with, is the hottest thing about this.

I agree, its all about different likes and thats all ok... I just wish we could have more masc looking bottoms, without having to look super bubbly bara you know? Haha there are SOME artists that donut pretty well but not that many... Little by little artists are starting to go outside of the norm and hopefully we get more content with more realistic bodies (づ￣ ³￣)づ

I may be part of the majority in regards to the topic at hand (I like pretty/cute ukes, sue me- XD), but I've also experienced the disappointment and yearning for more of a specific type of content that simply really isn't that popular, so I totally get where you're coming from! I just really like participating in these types of conversations. That, and I wanted to put my two-cents in when regarding the... Logistics and expectations in regards to the 'youthful' appearances of most ukes. That there are some preferences that someone may have that we may not understand the appeal of, and that it's fine. But, truly, it's unfortunate when you have a heavy preference or taste in something that *tends* to be rather niche in nature. It can be entirely frustrating, so you have my full sympathy... ʕ´• ᴥ•`ʔ

There’s one called “The grand prince” on Viki. It’s somewhat similar. There are two princes and the younger is the crown prince while the oldest is not. The youngest falls in love with a ministers daughter and the oldest wants to have what the youngest has and tries to have the ministers daughter while fighting for the position of emperor.
