So here’s the tea sis!

In the ball they both dance together and Elzay says she doesn’t love him, which angers Aseph. So after their dance he takes their to a corridor where he asks why he’s leaving him in the dark (or why she doesn’t love him sorry my translation may be off). Elzay cries her heart out like always, but the Aseph pulls out a knife. He basically saying he rather die then not be loved by her.

Aseph begins to stab himself, but then Elzay shouts why she can’t love him. She tells him she has the god seal and Aseph stopped stabbing himself. Elzay throws the knife aside and cries harder. She begins telling him she can’t love him because of the seal and Aseph asks why she can’t love over the seal. Elzay cries more and tells him she loves him and Aseph hugs her.

Then Elzay’s father and her sister come into the corridor. Her father see’s blood on her dress and screams at Aseph on what he did to his daughter. But Elzay says Aseph is hurt not her. Then her father calms down and her sister is confused/shocked on the situation.
They had this convo which I don’t really remember (sorry).

Then, Aseph and Elzay leave the two.

Which ends saying “Season 1 End”.

I know, but it still doesn't change the fact they romanticise this and it's not healthy. I hate it when people just throw "but it's just fiction so it's fiiine" back to my face......well is it really fine? Yes and no. You really think fiction never influences other's mindsets? Let's say a naive teenager (i know personally very naive adults too btw) who reads this type of story and comes to the conclusion that if they receive this kind of behaviour from someone its going to be fine and dandy because they will change for the better just for them and it's not how it works irl. If it was one book/comic like this i guess it would be fine? But sadly it's such a common trope. Every other story portrays abuse as something that's fine and should be apologised. I know this sounds like a far stretch and the authors do this intentionally because they probably don't realise this themselfs.
On the otherhand someone who is aware of this or somewhat "well-socialized" (i cant seem to find a better word) would pick up on these and just regard them as fiction and their view on relationships wouldn't change. The problem is that you can't control who reads these stories and who doesn't. Plus at the end of the day ppl can and should write whatever they want, but we should educate (esp.younger ppl) about what is fine and what is not so they can decide for themself. As you said "we know it should not be reality" but sadly not everyone knows this.
For an example: i can't even count how many times yaoi comics presented rape as a romantic gesture because the victim felt pleasure through the act (thus making it "just sex" not adressing the issue not once) as a young teen who probably shouldn't read these (and who was romantically and sexually very very naive) i thought too that it's not rape and it's fine. Imagine my horror when i realised this after a few years .
Dismissing an issue just because "it's fiction and ppl know it" is not okay. As someone who grew up in a bubble and got influenced by fiction because they didn't know better....it's not okay to sweep it under the rug.

On the topic of Rape. There is a difference between rape fantasy and actual rape. Studies do show that a high number of women have fantasies of rape, however that does not mean women actually want to be raced and certainly will be scarred on so many levels if it actually happen. I read rape hentai, but do I want to be raped? No. Do I want others to be raped? No. Like BDSM, rape fantasy is just the high of fictitiously losing control but not actually causing psychological or physical harm, which actual rape is. Actual Rape has no safe words, no reset button if you feel uncomfortable or threatened. Actual rape is violating someones right and just plain assault, not love but robbing control and damaging others.

Yaoi in the old time wasnt meant for their stories or to represent actual LGBT. It was for Asian women that otherwise has no outlet for their own sexuality.And thus if you read any old yaoi work now, its going to be problematic. Just like how action manga in the nineties only have a few women for their ass and boobs and sexy time. Any old work is going to be problematic by modern day 2020 standards. If you look at the Yaoi, or the Korean versions now, things have gotten a lot better,well generally it is. Killing Stalking not included cos thats psychological horror and many fans knew Sangwoo needed to die, even the Author herself. And Bara genre is more LGBT friendly. However I must admit that things were bad in the past. eg. Hua Hua You Long was absolutely disturbing. But like I said, things are starting to change. And there are tons of new works to wash out the old. You can read Raising a Bat. Its not the newest, but still quite good and cute and not abusive.

Bad boy turning good romances are not going to go away even if they are unrealistic and they arent quite a problem at all And there are many many many stories out there that talk about domestic abuse and making the general crowd aware of reality. Also just check out any chinese manhua comment section and you will see a ton of hate against the stupid Male leads and their anger management issues. I swear, Chinese manhwas are still the absolute worst these days, but the general collective on this site hates them and the comments warn any potential reader before they even start reading.

My verdict. The community is doing enough and give it time.

But let's be realistic from that 3 short sentences i had no idea of knowing your view on this topic. But outright saying i "don't even know how to understand what you wrote" is kinda harsh don't you think? Especially when you go around basically disregarding what i said even though we are almost on the same opinion (judging from your other comments too)? Then by the standard you made you don't understand what i wrote too.
I know the community of mangago is progressing steadily and im glad people recognise toxicity better although it's definitly not true for everyone or every age group (as you implied too). Maybe because im from a socially underdeveloped country and been listening to some very questionable opinion on this topic (girl defined im looking at you) im salty about this you know? Because i see these "tropes" in real life so saying people recognise it is not true for every (or even most) cases. I know it's not the inherent fault fiction and im not blaming it for these problems, but we shouldn't act like it's an uncommon thing and it doesn't influence others. Because i damn well find it in a lots of books and only a fraction of the audience points it out/realises it. And this will probably sound ~contradictory~ but i never said no one should read or write these...because they are entertaining and that's why im reading them too. But saying without your own perspective or context that "it's fiction" it may sound like you just try to cheaply validate it. I guess our little miscommunication created this whole misunderstanting.

No. I dont think so. I didnt give you a text wall, but you just lunged at the chance because you assumed that you are more woke than me. The right thing was to confirm my words. I dont care which socially underdeveloped country you are from, thats your country's issue to deal with. If you want change in that country you live in, be that change and write your own story. A mangago debate isnt gonna make your country woke in a day. Or even a year.

Look, I never say that everyone is suddenly woke in mangago. But you are not gonna get everyone on board to collectively agree with you like a brainwashed hive mind. Trying to make it so will just tire you out and I have been there. Just make sure different views are out there and little by little, more will recognise it and more will add their views that call out bad works. Thats whats occurring for the new release of bad chinese manhuas. There is also a huge possibility that many on here do not comment on it because they view as just entertainment, or because other readers have pointed it out already. You can check the like to dislike ratio on how many agree on each view.

The community is doing enough and give it time. It is still in the works and let the manga community go at its own pace.

We may be similar in age,but I am talking about the different generation of readers. I was here since the start of Ouke no Monshou, a historical manga with really outdated themes that wouldnt be okay today. I have read almost all the old yaoi mangas and well, had my say in them. Caste Heaven was a hot debate when I was younger. But Ive kinda left the more twisted side of yaoi community, only reading works that are more LGBT friendly like mage and demon queen, rather than the old garbage with relationship abuses.
