love isnt always about chemistry, people can fail chemistry but succeed in love.
to me, i see it from their communication, yes they fought, yes they use each other, but they talk about it. albeit sometimes it caused tension, but they dont deceive each other.
and the development to an actual relationship is substantial and solid.
it may seem forced, but this is how their relationship develops and both consent to it. one is in needs of this relationship [for medical purpose, such as their pheromones and cause of stress] , while the other wants it [for pleasure lol].

from my perspective, they have a lot of chemistry! This is a complex story, with characters that have many layers, so those who are not used to it may miss the details and subtleties that give them depth. Brett and Hayden have unequal personalities: one is the introverted nerd, the other is the rich, handsome, popular and extroverted athlete... but in private they take on different roles. Their perversions align. Furthermore, they understand each other very well. If you look carefully at the details, you will notice that throughout each bit of the story, the author drops a hint of how they are increasingly connecting.

I think that's just the consequence of adapting a novel into a manhwa. I started reading the novel and the chapters are quite lengthy and detailed but they provide more backstory and explanation in the first 8 chapters than the manhwa has in its 33

I agree in this beginning they mention the MC siblings dying but he never really seemed to upset or in grief about them neither do his family. It’s barely getting into it now with this season but I thought that was a little off
