so conflicted. i don't know how to feel about this.
Well first of all,
-sooha's psyche + cute polite bebe is the thing that carries this manhwa. the other characters can go and rot in a ditch (especially the 'mom').
-so much trauma in one person... at least there was some kind of therapy, reconciliation and healing done between the main cast.
-melodramatic chasing wife crematorium kinda story, at least haewon owns up and admits to his mistake(though he SUCKS badly for half the story). he's not a deadbeat father so a plus point from me.
-but -1000000 point for shoving it in just like that(there's preparation in the LAST ep only wtfff). maybe it's just me but any sex scenes were unbearable :0
All in all, so-so lol.
I kinda wish that we are shown what she is working on in the background. We see snippets of her going to the bank but that's it.
Don't get me wrong, going on dates trying to make the scandal bigger is work too, but i wish there is something else. She's putting all her eggs in one basket and that is worrying.
Haven't she learned not to blindly trust a man? Well she had the intel that Miguel is pro-republic but we don't see her at the very least THINK about what she can do about that kind of information in case if things go south. What if Miguel is caught? What will happen then? Ofc, they won't get anything if they betrayed the other but, BUT BUTTT ahahahahah
She promised to put the crown on Miguel's head and i REAAAAAALLY wanted to see her plan on doing so, pls don't put her actions in the backrooms (/TДT)/
The artwork made me stay, ive read this years ago and suddenly came across a reel about cold duke of the north. lo and behold ritch is there and it unlocked my memories about this manhwa lol.
Honestly, the manhwa is lighthearted but dog-blooded at the same time??? Lolol. Only that the ending is abrupt and underwhelming, so that's dissapointing.
-Peony: she's a cutiepie, the sunshine-y type and have a super positive outlook on things LOL. Extra playful too, i love to see her have fun, but i get it some may see it as childish. However, she IS an impulsive person, and is forceful initially(had been rejected but came to his fief anyway.. gurl...) at least she did negotiate the term for her engagement, and not be in his face all the time..
-Ritch: he sucks at first cause wdym that u give less amount of firewood to make her go away, when u can just say that you don't want the engagement. But with time, we can see that he cares deeply about the people around him. Evenso, i wish that he can say nicer words to peony, i mean yeah u can be a straightballer and not be THAT sharp. He sometimes have the emotion regulation of a grumpy teenager.. Like bro calm down don't take out your anger on other people. Face card reallyyyyy saving me from raging at him LOL i guess tsundere guys is not it for me hahah
*they are cute. But peony really carries the relationship. I LOVE the balcony scene where peony asked ritch to protect their relationship.

-ogfl: she's super cool. i love that she's not a damsel in distress but have character growth and become stronger mentally.
*they are good guys, and its sooo rare to see that none of the og main cast in reality are bad guys

Andy and Marie is suuuuuuperrrrr endearing hahah, i usually dislike nonchalant characters but andy here just have an expressionless face, but he's caring and HE gave out words of wisdom to ritch. Marie my cutiepie~
All in all, i did enjoy this. Maybe a 3.5/5? (〜￣△￣)〜
AIDS is very stigmatized. No matter the place, the country, ESPECIALLY in a conservative country like sk.
Let's look from another perspective hm? She's a single mother, widowed from an evil man, who threatened to give hyun aids too. That's crazy.
She also have NO support system at all. I don't think the neighbours is all that accepting when as ive said, aids is very stigmatized. All his friends is saying that they're afraid of hyun. Maybe the better decision that comes to her mind would be to move to another area, but she's a sick single mother.. She should be the provider for her child, but don't be so harsh yeah?
Ofc, Hyun is innocent, he's a child, shouldn't have blamed himself. Doesn't mean he needs to be filial too, since he was abandoned. But what can i say, ppl have different opinions, if he's willing to forgive, then that's it.
this story picks up at almost ~38ish something, the one that intrigue me the most is the psychological part of this story.
The initial chapters were kind of a mess of disconnected scenes, but it got better as time goes on....
Wish that this story isn't dropped, cause I'd love to read season 3(⌒▽⌒)
I've re-read this quite a few times already. Super bittersweet. Towa is such a cutie :D
I wish that they had a re-encounter, instead of herapi seeking out naguru first. Ofc, being a simp is not a sin. But naguru immediately saying i want to be family with you and the baby does NOT leave me feeling 100% happy...
He was lonely, and herapi suddenly appears, kaboom maybe family was the guy i rejected all along. It got me thinking, what if herapi does not take the first step? (i mean he got rejected twice already hahah)
Don't get me wrong, he does say 'he lost, he wanted to be together with herapi', but its not fleshed out well. We don't know what naguru is thinkingggggg, was he spiralling because he needs a stable support system, he misses his family or does he NEED herapi. If its all together, then i sooo wanted them to meet each other again spontaneously and get to know each other better.
So that's why i wish they had a chance encounter, makes the emotion of being reunited more... of longing for each other and not from loneliness only. Maybe meeting herapi with crying baby towa at a park or something.
But all in all i love the visuals, the vehicles is fire. Naguru punching herapi makes me respect him cause he's true to his words AHAHAH though it left me speechless at first loll. And towa must've been herapi's sister's or something cause he was already born when he was meeting naguru (the nostalgic baby powder part)

Edit: I love this so much!!!!! They have similar looks, similar taste, and is soooo whipped to each other! Nearing the end, i cried and some moments really make me reflect on myself lol. Because its true, how envious it is to see someone fighting the world for something they love. And that's very admirable.
Now now, some people say that this is a good beginner bl. Why? Because of its simple storyline? I disagree with them saying this is for 'beginners'. True, this manhwa is a feel good story, but its rare to see one with endearing characters(main and sides), that keeps you hooked til the end without making it boring(of course there are plot holes, but its one which i can ignore lol). i appreciate the simplicity, and the growth they underwent as a person and the relationship hehe
c25 - everything sucks, except euiyong and euihyun. Man, i love euihyun he's so resilient and strongㅠㅠ as far as c25, i can see why people likes taeju, but hes in the grey area for me.
Likable things about him - chaotic funny guy,, not a heartless debt collector lol he have sympathy???? Lol funny cause it is quite a clash w his job
Unlikable things about him - u can't deny that he coerced euihyun into sex. Then, he's giving mixed signals and i hate that,, what do u want from euihyun hm?? Do u want love??? As his debtor???? LOLOLOL I know that this is the conflict but god, eihyun had suffered enough. all this time it seems like eihyun is freely given a choice, but he's not free. Haih
c34 - ooh i love how the author is going to go w this. As a dogblood troupe connoisseur, i wonder how the author will cook kept man into love.... soo, introducing the 2nd lead lol. Euihyun's psyche is soooo understandable i wished he found some friends
c100 - binged in a day... i should've predicted kidnapping plot too hahah, but i was right about stabbing to protect someone loll,,, at ch50~ there was non-con, i hate every second of it i skipped it. However, i persevere cause euihyun is just that cool. And boy at least taeju change his ways.... If euihyun forgives him then its okay, people are built differently after all (no 2nd chances w me, but what can i say lol, they're fictional). If after this second chance, taeju still fuck it up, then pls leave his sorry ass. Euiyong such a cutiepie :D
