It kinda feels like someone who did read Affair of others depends on compare slaves and saw how it was slow burning too much and decided to make this very compact and put a little more focus on the relationship of the couple then tweaked some of their characters.

Stumbled upon it in my notes list from 8 years ago and decided to read it, but after rereading it again it is totally not what I expected. Maybe my taste back then was clouded by 2010s yaoi troupes thinking this was ok, it’s not as good as I thought I remembered it. The more you know.

Cherry picking is definitely the right title for this story, I hate to say that the first couple wasn’t my favorite. That’s only because Hansol kept going back and forth between the two guys and it was irritating. He was also reconsidering after he met Enho in the cafe to end things but knowing how much of a charismatic prick he is Hansol was like wait wait… maybe I can have sex with him LIKE YPURE IN LOVE JUST GET OUT.
The second couple is toxic but I enjoy the development that’s going on between the two. Though Rakhyun is a total douchebag I’m glad to see him put in his place after being a weirdo stalker, Enho isn’t getting a get out of jail card either cause of all that sexual forcefulness. Rakhyun is starting to be a little bit more honest but he needs to fess up one of these days that everything he said about him being the guy who sleeps around is so not true. Also Enho should open up more about his past and his insecurities, maybe it’ll come up in the future idk. Their dynamic to me is like abusive girlfriend and her somewhat compliant boyfriend help

Just when this was starting to get good ofc they would have some FREAK ass old man to ruin the moment. I do love some old man yaoi but GET OUT OF THE WAY. Now I don’t remember if the ML ever talked about his parents besides the glimpse of a fire in the first chapter most likely relating to his backstory but that old guy kinda resembles him, only for the eyes.
If that’s the case then like father like son yk yk but I don’t want this to heart my break too if the other guy had to choose the old man at some point in the story like a pinnacle part or whatever :|
Omg why did they do the omega dirty like that, i don’t know if there’s side stories but the author should at least maybe have a side story for hye-seong. I honestly like Hye-seong and the small exploration of his insecurities, all he wanted was to be loved and now he got fucked over by Man Dicklet 1 (Minjun) and Man dicklet 2 (Yuri)

That’s true, especially this chapter Hye-Seong isn’t safe without any criticism. It was his desperate act to feel like he’s gonna be loved if he had a fated mating pair due to witnessing his mother being abandoned and bro was like psssh that’s not gonna to me I’m different from yall… no… the big boobed blonde man and his chopped haired beta hussie pretty much crushed and took advantage of him for Yuri’s weird goal.
In the he was able to communicate with Yuri even Yuri admits that he did take advantage of Hye-Seong which I give him credit for, though they were ‘compatible’ they parted ways. Hye-Seong now knows that there’s no room for him especially seeing how Minjun was with Yuri in that chapter.
For that I can’t help but feel a bit empathic towards him, yes what he tried to do was wrong there’s no question in that I just wish the author was lenient enough to give him a side story where he sees his mistake and choose who he wants to be with carefully and the other person truly loving him back. Though coming from this author I doubt we’ll have that since their other works don’t contain a side story like Butterfly trap that does have a potential side story couple.
