Malcolm is right. He saw through andrew's insecurities and actually wants to protect him. Luke thinks he is doing good by getting andrew out for him to socialize with his own friends but what andrew wants is to spend that time with luke alone to be sure that their relationship is solid. He is not that outgoing, extrovert guy like luke is and him seeing luke be that kind of person with others obviously makes his insecurities bigger.
Now he is gonna watch the play's practice where luke is gonna be confessing and kissing a girl. Like dude. He is about to explode from malcolm being luke's bestie and a little giggle between friends, he is not gonna handle the whole play when his feelings are this raw.
