At this point anyone but mc is interesting and well written. I was hoping a lot after mc's childhood friend dying but mc's character died w him as well. Like do something other than occasionally acting cool, i feel like author built way more interesting relationships outside of mc. Mc only interacts w the purple guy but it is only to awaken his powers.

But I think the part about Moon's (MC) character dying could be a set up by the creator, or bad character building or writing, or because well Moon is literally traumatized and clueless anout many things right now. Its literally only been a few days when all this even more chaos started for him, and again Moon is literally clueless about almost everything since he was 'isolated' (he was in the place wherein the kind of knowledge isn't available or common).
And theres also the fact that Moon is still 'growing' as a character and person, he was a weak person when he was introduced and although he has awaken there are limits that prevent him to present them or use them at their highest potential, like one this powers thingy is still new to him, he still doesnt know about what its does fully, and theres Black.
We're still in the begining arc so I believe the story is still building up further on Moon's story, but I do hope soon that the author does do something more to establish Moon as the main character. Like flesh him out more like you said. But again we're still at the beginning, (sort of lol even though its been 30+ chapters) the other characters were only just introduced to the Mc literally a chapter or two ago but not once had they had a chance to ineract and build a relationship/dynamic yet.

I just want to be positive since the story is really interesting and has lot of great potential and I believe that its still too early to judge, but that is an opinion of mine only, its alright if you dont agree. Currently, the best thing to do right now is to wait and see how the story will go.
Everyone is making theories so here is mine: xin wants to destroy the whole family. Their brother and sister probably died because they were against the family and they were punished/killed. Xin also tells lau that they know the best about not going against family when he briefly talks about wanting to run away.
Xin thinks that lau resents him for the whole guardian pact, he probably also feels guilty that lau was forced to go that isolation training and all. He probably feels guilty about his big sis dying as well.
He tried to get lau away from himself but since he is a guardian he cannot no matter what. One of them needs to die so they can be free. Maybe xin is letting branch families destroy himself so lau can be free and their sisters would be avenged. But i dont wanna believe in that.
So xin is probably so done with it, head family wants to destroy branch families, xin wants to destroy all. Maybe there is a bigger plan in the plan. Chen blaming alex on xin also can be xin actually plotting to put things on action. Who knows.
