Ok, I checked Chap1, and in that flashback, Shima said that, "it's just an opening ceremony anyway" and mitsumi replied "I'm sure that's how you see it." You see, she's actually the top scorer, hence she is the speaker for the ceremony. Thus, it's not just a ceremony to her; but something really important. The thing is, they were strangers from back then, and he trusted her words when she wanted to hurry, so they both ran, rather than take it easy because of "how Shima saw it."
Now putting that into context for Ch 10, we can infer that when Shima said the same thing, Mitsumi felt embarrassed because she relied on her own assumption and didn't hear the real reason from him. However, I think Shima felt like he made a mistake when he could have just explained the reason for being absent because they were already friemds, rather than, say, feel "hurt."
There! Don't know if that makes sense to you guys though. Hahaha

I actually prefer this over Solo leveling because this sorcerer is quite unusual. He's not a "nakama" character who saves just about anyone blindlessly, and he combines both magic and technology. Seriously! What better way to improve your knowledge by building on something proven and systematic already! The only points that I am in favor of SL are the first arc which allowed him to be reborn, and the raising of the undead To be his allies. Otherwise, it's too much OP. Now that would work if it was gag comedy like One Punch Man, or with additional thinking and complicated universe like that in The Gamer.
Additional points to SK because the guys here said that SK was released first, a decade earlier than SL.
