I agree with you on this because while it seems like they were happy together there was that creature in the window and the dad left with the son after seeing it so this raises the question of did he leave of his own free will or was there something that drove him to leave? Also what role does the little brother play in this? We know he is similar to the dad but what powers do they possess? Why was the dad able to keep the spirits away? I hope the next coming chapters shed light on these questions because I'm slowly dying from feels. (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
The little brother is like the father. While Chise and her mother attracts those things, her father and brother repel them naturally. That's why the mother said that the dad and son left enough energy behind to keep them out of the apartment for the day and Chise was able to stay home with the brother while her parents were out. From what I can tell, even though there were ones that didn't bother, the ones that did were attacked by the dad. So he definitely sees them, too.

From what is discussed they could be the opposites of the Slay Vega, like Yin and Yang. I'm curious about what they will say in the future of the origins of the Slay Vega and their counterparts, this might help extend Chise's short lifespan.
