This is one of the most beautiful bls I've ever read everything from the plot to design of the characters to the art to every last drop of it all it's seriously just so perfect I loved it very much and was a worth read there were moments were I would be on the edge of my seat and moments were I would be kicking my feet to other moments where id be sobbing my eyes out seriously everything about this show was perfect the mental illnesses and passion and the different struggles of every character seriously sasya and karel will forever be in my heart

Just like all of you can guess. Glenberg is involved in Slan's downfall.
Ok, so Slan's uncle WAS the Lord of Kalak, and he named Slan as an heir.
Slan's other uncle (current lord of kalak), conspiring with a lot of people including glenberg to get rid the lord of kalak.
One day, slan & lloyd were having an argument and lloyd stormed off. Slan then asked ismion to go with lloyd. Suddenly that night, the general of kalak, who supposed to be loyalist to his uncle, but enemies to lloyd and had a lot of opposition in decision making with Slan, asked Slan to meet. If the meeting was in general house, slan will refuse due to his scepticism. But the general proposed the meeting to be at his uncle (lord kalak) palace. So slan came all the way to palace and he thought, glenberg is the knight of the castle so nothing bad could happened. But slan was wrong.
When slan was arrived, glenberg conspired with general of kalak and gave slan the poison which caused him having madness/mania. Slan madness is actually from poisoning not bugs like slan was told.
Slan father at the time, was rushing to the palace to find slan because he knew that the general and glenberg are about to commit treason, but they killed slan's father by pushing him down to his death. Slan saw it but he was still under poison. Suddenly, the other uncle assumed himself as the new lord. And put slan in helga tower. Slan mother was also murdered by pushing her from the tower (Slan saw it).
Lloyd came back, but at that time, lloyd didn't know slan was poisoned and he didn't know glenberg was betraying them. Lloyd asked the new lord to not kill slan, the lord agreed to make slan a slave under one condition, lloyd had to cut his right arm. His sword arm. Lloyd then cut off his arm. Then the lord sent lloyd to war (the 2 years war) while knowing so well lloyd didn't have an arm. It is done so lloyd will die in battlefield. Lloyd who didn't know glenberg was a traitor put slan under their care. Lisbeth promised that she will take care of slan.
Then it started. Glenberg started giving slan medicine to make slan stupid and losing all his memories.
Lies told by glenberg & current lord of kalak :
- slan killed his own father
- his madness is due to bugs
- when slan found out it's because of poison, lister lied and told slan it was Lloyd who poisoned him
- slan mother committed suicide by jumping from helga tower
- slan uncle (the real lord) died in hospital due to shock losing his brother (slan's father), I bet they killed slan's uncle
The current lord also sent all slan's allies and subordinates to impossible battle without preparation to die. Most of them are dead or becoming really crippled and moved out of kalak.
Lloyd use magic to attached demonic arm as his new arm. Seeing how lloyd is still alive after 2 years, the current lord of kalak is very very afraid of him. Moreover, lloyd finally found all the lies they have been told.
What bother me the most is, slan is literally turned stupid. He will believe Lisbeth more than lloyd. Because of him, he will caused people who tried to helped him died in vain. I know it's heartbreaking but it's also stupid. Slan already remember all his friends and allies, and how they died or crippled. He also knew was poisoned, but he kept believing lister word that it was Lloyd who did that. Slan only has small suspicion about glenberg. He knew all his allies died but why glenberg is alive, he did questioned it, but again he came back to conclusion that it was Lisbeth who took him out of helga tower (it was actually lloyd in exchange for his arm).
It also annoying how slan is having affirmation that he is a slabe like few times a day. Dude literally clinging to glenberg. When slan asked ismion & lloyd whether it's lloyd who poisoned them, they both surprised but slan took it as "did they surprise because I knew lloyd poisoned me". Tbh this arc is super annoying. I know he is also a victim but it hard to read he losed all his brain cells due to the medication and made him has inferiority complex and low self esteem. I mean, lloyd and ismion and all other people also victims here.
Ok moving on. Because slan hesitation, his first rescue was failure, and the girl wizard (new new doctor) is dead. Later on 2nd rescue mission, another kid die. But because slan no longer drinking the stupid drugs, his memories return. He finally remembered that his parents are killed before him and lloyd was asked to lose one arm.
All I have to say, this story is really really heavy. It deals with regrets, depression, low self esteem and inferiority complex it's heart breaking and really hard to read.
If you wanna know, on 2nd escape time of slan, he stabbed lister in his eye. I really really hate that guy. Also, Lisbeth is dead. But she died peacefully after putting slan under lister bullying for 3 years it's really unsatisfying.
