I hope the author let's Maki win this fight, it's about time she gets an arc. I'm so tired of shonen who sideline women even though they are badass, let women be characters 2021!!
Gege is really good at writing women. I doubt the Mangaka would give Maki this new look just to kill her off. I hope her and Nobara become canon too
Yes and no, meanwhile his women are solid he is still lacking a very important point. Giving them an arc as important or a role as important as any of their random male characters, I have hope that Maki will be the first one to get this treatment and then Novara will become badass.
(I have faith in him but so far he needs to ear that last steps for me to recognize his female characters ARE characters and not an afterthought of pretty)
The gender of the Mangaka is unknown so please use gender neutral pronouns. Also of course each character deserves an arc but the main focus of the story is still the MC and sometimes characters die before they can get an arc, that doesnt make it bad writing.

I like what happened I only wish it lasted for more chapters, she deserved the spotlight for more time. I know the story needs to move on but a little bit of fight and gloating wouldn't hurt, this is the first big power up of a female character.
Also her father thinking Maki has a similar aura as Megumi's father is a hell out of compliment
