She most likely thought that it was Meldon since she saw the kiddo from the church that she knows. And since he said “oh he’s a pretty cool guy” she trusted that. And it’s also possible that she thought it was Meldon since he wore a black coat like that in the past chp before.
Though I do think it’s a given to at least be careful if they randomly decided to pull away
I love the art, I hope the Duke goes back with her to her world
