the more i reread the story the more apparent it is how seoan is an actual pushover when it comes to his father, like how is he gonna be mad with woowon (his father literally threatened woowon with his mother) for not instantly fighting back when he literally nods along to anything his father says, has picked up on so many of his toxic/violent traits and keeps looking for his approval? kinda hypocritical if u ask me

Yep, that was the sentence that I thought 'bye, bye'.. Because I think it's a good portrayal of an obstacle in their relationship. Not some silly plot device to cause trouble, but rather, their long held views and experiences causing them trouble. But asking if he would change for the better, makes it all feel like he doesn't think he's good enough now.
and that was literally his biggest insecurity, seoan needs to grow and get rid of his narcissistic ways, and the only way he could do that is by realising wooowons worth, hopefully woowon actually leaves him, wanna see him beg for his forgiveness and actually have some good character development after saying that shit
