Since people in the comments want to discuss the upcoming chapters I thought I would give my two cents on it. Firstly it’s very noticeable that seoan hasn’t worked through his issues and only isolated himself from his triggers, now that he is out he seems to be spiralling/derailing without even noticing. woowon as usual is being the worlds punching bag and getting caught up in unfortunate shit left and right. the “sa” everyone’s talking about can be interpreted differently depending on the reader, I personally was uncomfy with it all but looking at it from woowons perspective he only told seoan to stop (THIS IS MY INTERPRETATION ON THE MATTER NOT A FACT) because seoan was hurting him self, borderline looked like self punishment/self harm from seoans side, woowon realised when looking at seoan that he was extremely insecure and therefore hugged him and told him everything he does with seoan is fine and that seoan is the most important person to him. Therefore i wouldn’t classify what happened as SA. But again everyone interprets everything differently and that scene in genereal was hard to watch generally. Good writing from upi though since it makes it obvious getting into this relationship didn’t make seoan magically lose his mental health issues.
Don’t think woowon would refer to this as SA but we will just have to wait and see, wish upi would’ve gone a different route since this actually shocked me but I guess they’re trying something new, a theme that’s a bit darker perhaps. It’s all very realistic behaviours so we will have to see what happens next.
I don’t think sa can be interpreted differently. We can agree that it’s sa and also agree on the fact that the victim in the circumstance decides to ignore that because he’s more worried about his lovers mental health. He decides to prioritize his lover hurting himself instead. It’s complicated. Two things can coexist. Idk but me not calling it sa makes me feel as though I’m spitting in the faces of the people who have went through similar situations (who have trauma because of it) and ended up not forgiving or ignoring it.
It’s just a story tho and bls usually tend to minimize such things (how a victim would actually feel in real life). I don’t have hope that this manga isn’t gonna do that because it would be hard to convince the audience that the main couple is in love with each other when one of character is having complicated feelings after being sexually assaulted. That’s probably why so many mangas tend to completely ignore or gloss it over.
I completely understand your point of view and can honestly see that it could be called sa, I’m probably just shocked upi went this route since they’ve never done this and I’m just so disappointed honestly. Again never expected it, we will have to see how they handle this moving forward but knowing bl authors im just scared this situation is gonna be glossed over.
Yeah, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. A character have trauma over sa is a delicate topic especially when it’s from someone they love (a complicated relationship). Similarly to Woo-won’s relationship with his father. He abused him but Woo-won still remembers the good memories and has some love for him. Idk if the author did this on purpose but I’m seeing parallels lol.
If the situation gets glossed over and never brought up afterwards then because I’m so used to seeing that. I wont get angry over it or anything like that. I get why ur disappointed tho, that’s totally valid. I do believe that certain topics should be handled/covered with care (shown realistically). But if it’s not then.. I can’t really do anything about that.
Im trying to understand why some authors do this tho, I guess it makes sense from a storyteller’s perspective. The main characters are depicted as being in love, showing a character getting trauma (or showing how a victim would actually feel) from their lover’s action would make the audience doubt that love. Thanks for not automatically fighting me like so many people in the internet tend to do. I’m glad we’re able to have a civil conversation.
yeah i really don’t understand why authors do it either, with upi I honestly don’t believe they would do something like this for shock value like many others, I think their intention is to show how both characters are spiralling in different ways and this happened to be a way to show it. I don’t and will never doubt their love, but it’s obvious they both have mad issues, and the point you made about the parallel between woowon still caring about his father and this situation was honestly very eye opening. Seoan has also always shown bits and pieces of how possessive he is but chp 60 definitely solidified that. He needs to realise though that he doesn’t own woowon and that his mental health issues can’t cloud his judgement.
Reading chp 60 made me realise how much seoan based his self worth onto woowon and therefore he spiralled thinking of him being with someone else, and what he did was more to punish himself is the way I see it but then again roping the one you love info your self destructive behaviours (albeit in my opinion unintentionally) isn’t the way to go about it. Like ever. Hope he wakes up and realises that in the next chp.

woowons insecurities are so extreme im so sad, seoan choose you there’s nothing woowon has to “prove” and i hope seoan makes that clear to him sooner rather than later, otherwise it will consume him.
some of y’all in the comments are reading the story with their eyes closed fr. Woowon is not spineless and he’s not weak, he’s extremely strong for having been through all that he has and yet coming out so kind and compassionate. Just cause he isn’t aggressive doesn’t make him weak. And pls “just get a backbone” ?? It’s called having low self worth after all the trauma he has been through like what do u guys even mean? do you guys realise different people act and behave differently to certain situations? or do y’all just expect everyone to act the same? mad weird
