Call me ridiculous but I hate that it had to go to the 'character is hurt' trope. It forces the other one to do something. It's an emotional choice. I rather prefer a scenario where a character chooses to confront an issue head on rather than be instigated by circumstance. The whole 'character is hurt/sick/dying' plot device doesn't quite work for me anymore (눈‸눈)

Especially since my older sister, my cousin, and my best friend are Army. Can't relate but it's hella funny hearing their conversations about this and that happening with so-and-so. The distress of having one of them serving their military duty recently is palpable and it confuses me but you do you.
I actually want the Liz character to he innocent. As in, pure-hearted and naive and kind and all that jazz. I would also prefer her unconsciously charming people and not even know it. Coz that way you get to see just how dangerous it is to knee-jerk react to a scene and choose 'kindness' over common sense.
Case in point, Liz protects the kidnapper instead of the one in actual danger. That's hella toxic. Her first instinct was to protect the man coz MC had her sword against him totally ignoring the fact that MC is bruised, battered, wounded, and clearly going against a criminal who had been planning to kill the kid.
That's why I want Liz to be naive instead of manipulative. Her ideals are dangerous and she needs a damn wake up call. However, if she's been manipulating things as per usual from genres like this, I'd be sorely disappointed.
I do like how MC is also wondering about that. Coz damn. Liz is BEYOND ignorant of life. Wtf.
