Well, as a matter of fact, he is not trying to get to Ayane, more like he wants to take a responsibility for them, after he saw the conditions they live in.
Even if that is the “matter of fact”, he still has no right to weasel his way back into their lives after what he did to her four years ago. If he had any actual decency, he would have left after she woke up rather than threatening her to take Rin away from her. Like she’s literally a victim.
