Plus his feelings were swayed and I think he really wanted to become the king and knew it would only get worse. Bc the marquis house seemed to be implied to help him succeed the throne so I’m guessing they knew he was the queens son and that’s maybe why they made a deal with him and bought the fl. But yes there could’ve been a better way to protect fl.
