Anyone notice the three girls at the end of ch 418 look really similar to buttercup, bubbles and blossom? I screamed-
I've read Spoon's previous works and usually one of the big things they like to do is time skips.
However I feel like with this sort of story, it's too frequent that the storyline becomes difficult to follow.
The first couple of chapters were very well done, the children becoming close and getting to know each other. Her mom's death although was quite sudden, it was written really well from the POV of a child.
Then.. the plot becomes time skip galore. Perhaps the k-drama goes into more detail so Spoon is trying to elaborate on parts which aren't included or refined but it's done too messy. FL is studying then having a couple of jobs to getting her dream job while ML has gone states, military and has his family drama... all of those mentioned events felt too important to casually skip because it's hard to understand the characters, their motives/goals and how they are working to it.
ML especially because I feel like the beginning told his POV very strongly, it's odd that we no longer get fundamental parts that add to his perspective or childhood (like his life during military, when the relationship with his sister became damaged, himm accustoming to life away from home, how he makes friends despite his childhood and etc)
It feels like the current chapters we are getting aren't in the present yet because there's so much skipping that it's difficult to follow or explain. Maybe the story is still to recent however I wish it would at least expand on the parts it shows us since it's interesting to learn yet gets moved on so quickly by another time skip.
Wait.. they FUCKED?! I remember reading this in high school and my friend group tended to read 18+ BL while I preferred cute comedy so when I recommended this at the time, they all said it was too bland and lacklustre. Boy, if only they knew what I knew now.
The scene was really cute, I wasn't expecting it to be as explicit as it was (I am used to only seeing hand holding or hugging panels during smut, so I blinked twice when I saw the lube and lewd sfx) But for a cute story, it was a gentle scene which was a pleasant surprise considering these two were quite a slowburn.
I am probably going to upset someone so let me just state.. this is my opinion and I am sorry if my judgement offends anyone.
I really hate the way Asia writes FL characters. I am talking in games, novels, mangas and etc.. it feels as if they take some sort of enjoyment in abusing them. I am aware with the anti-feminism that's deep-rooted in those countries however I wish they wouldn't write it into stories as some sort of fetish.
To explain what I mean, I feel as if Chloe was supposed to be written as a virtuous firm noble who isn't easily swayed and makes selfless sacrifices for the people she feels most attached to like family. Compare her to her sister who quickly fell in love, even ran away with said man and put her family in a hard situation, Chloe was depicted to be a more formal lady who maintains a lot of dignity. Supposedly, the ML is trying to get her to be more open (I see it more as depend on him) however his methods are disgustingly sick, especially with his constant ableism of taking away the one important tool that helps her navigate in her every day life. FL who is written to have a stubborn mindset, IS SO EASILY SWAYED. Talking as if she won't be like her sister and won't like the one guy she hates who clearly bullies her yet she clearly likes him. It feels like this story is trying to make fun of strong FLs by writing the FL to supposedly have traits similar to that and then have the ML tear it down. I also feel like the writer only made her disabled as some sort of "romantic" device because it only becomes relevant when she's associated with the ML: him picking her up (like, she falls EVERY PAGE AT THIS POINT), him taking away her cane, him defending her against people who make fun of her ability, etc etc. Like.. what?? It feels like the idea should've been ditched, especially when the ML is as sadistic as this. He finds full pleasure in putting her in uncomfortable situations and it's sickening. And she lets him!! One minute they write her to behave as if she loathes him and contradict that within the same second by making her blush and mention how her feelings are changing or confused. Like at this point, let her become a doormat and don't bother giving her characteristics because that might as well be what she is.
The ML is honestly the worst kind of scum. Constantly scheming and putting his wife through a multitude of humiliating events for his personal benefit and entertainment... that isn't romance, that's just sad. And yet the FL mostly tolerates it and whenever she even begins to stand up for herself, ML does something to gain the bigger hand which is so annoying. The only good aspect about this story was that the writing was beautiful in the novel and the manhwa art is stunning because everything else is so... ugh.
That's just my opinion tho. Feel free to make me view it differently if you disagree.
Damn.. I didn't think the manhwa team would follow the novel in everything but they did
In the novel, the little sister is unresponsive and Isabella panicks a bit so she goes to her mom. Her mom who clearly doesn't care about her last daughter tells her that it's not a large concern and instead of calling a doctor to save her daughter, she says that Arabella will be fine and get up on her own. Leaving her sister to be found by the maids who she knew would come out later, Arabella was found dead and Isabella hid to her room to act as if she wasn't at the scene since no one witnessed it. Ariadne excitedly comes home to share the good news that her sister got accepted into her dream school only to discover that the family has gathered for Arabella's funeral. Aria touches Arabella's body and I think she figured out what truly happened due to her new abilities.
It was a sad scene but I hate how pathetically powerful Isabella is despite the situations she has involved herself in. Miss girl has gotten away with so many things and even the things that came to punish her don't feel as satisfying bc she somehow manages to do something even more drastic the next time. There's no slow and steady revenge with Isabella.. it's get rid of her NOW bc her schemes manage to get worse each and everytime.

May I add how much the manwha adapters have conveyed the scenes with so much emotion and perspective. The novel writing was mostly in Ruby's POV so we had a bit of unreliable narrator however the manhwa does well to expand how other characters feel and respond to situations around them. Like witnessing Ellenia's expression to Freya being confronted by Izek made her character feel human since that's her childhood friend who she knew longer. Little details like that give more depth to the side characters and the events they are involved in. I hated the aftermath of the tea incident in the novel, bc it felt like it never happened once Ruby returned to the social world. It's nice to see a bit of It's impact considering other girls witnessed it. I also like how they write in Izek's feelings, it gives him major significance as a ML. After this arc, I can't wait to witness Rudbeckia's improvement.
I actually really loved Agnes when reading the novel. It's sad to see her get introduced and have many readers assume that she's a homewrecker when she never intended to do such thing. If anything, I find Maxi making so many misunderstandings to be infuriating (and I know she cannot help it due to her childhood.) Agnes is a good friend who helps her with so much. This is just Maxi's era of being a little envious but learning to become more confident in herself and put more trust in others.
An occuring issue in manhwa these days is to make romance the main genre. This would be typically fine if the manhwa's plot is mainly focused on that aspect. However for a lot of isekai and time travel stories, this DOESN'T work.
With WMMAP and AIWTRO, the romance is a SUB genre, not the main. In the novel for AIWTRO, romance wasn't even a genre. The manhwa writers for some odd reason, seem to not understand the difference between MAIN and SUB. AIWTRO's main genre was basically revenge: the MAIN story was about Keira learning from her past mistakes to become a better person and dealing with Cosette.
I wouldn't have a problem if the manhwa author wanted to include romance as a subgenre since not only does that have a higher demand but it's what attracts most readers. My issue is that the manhwa artist has gone ahead, and basically rewrote the novel to become romance heavy when originally.. it had little to none of those elements. Keira's strong resolve, her relationships and improvements have all been stripped so she could become some shy school girl experiencing a silly love triangle while her HOMELAND is being threatened by a LITERAL devil. Everytime Cosette is brought up, one of the male leads to brought up afterwards and it's infuriating.
By far.. the most interesting factor of this storyline was Cosette. Her origins and goals have been the main plotline of this whole story.. yet she gets handled to the side like a pathetic side plot. Joseph's character has nothing built to him except for the fact that he's devoted to Keira.. no personality or goal. Erez.. most his character is mysterious which is intriguing but not for a male lead who is someone we should be able to trust, especially after 70+ chapters. Keira doesn't seem to even understand relationships, she only seems to like the IDEA of one due to all the stories she's been reading. Her novel counterpart was someone independent with pride yet that doesn't seem to exist here.
I'm obsessed with this story and have been rereading but here's some cute little details between the main couple so far:
CH 10: From the ending, we notice a little major detail that they both use to cope with their breakup. Taerin, who Yoonsik knew for drinking a lot of alcohol, was actually listening to music during her breakup. From early chapters, we know Yoonsik is a young musician who even made Jooah a song. Meanwhile Yoonsik is drinking alcohol. Without even meaning to, the two have jmpacted each other so much in the little time they had together that they have become familiar with each other's habits.
CH 14: During the private interviews, Yoonsik remembered Taerin's favorite drink without her ever telling him because he's very observant which is really cute. People like to bash on him when he's a really attentive person who notices the little things. (Lmfaoo Taerin's answer made me giggle but at least she got it right, her reaction when she figure out he got it right was also cute)
CH 17: They are both subtle and loud about their intimacy. Although they are acting, plenty times does Yoonsik have his hand on Taerin throughout the chapter. Also the way he came to defend her against Kyungmoo.. even if it was fake, that level of possessiveness is like.. PROTECT YOUR GIRL!! Also notice how Yoonsik felt worried how she might've felt, he cares even if she drives him crazy. (Again, they are so funny: his reaction when she started laughing) Also there was a point where Taerin fixes Yoonsik's face but she did it so she could check up on him. Considering how stoic he is, it means she's able to read his expressions and also cares about him even if they pretend dating.
CH 18: I won't tolerate Yoonsik slander, I don't blame his his reflexes for defending his previous girlfriend but he clearly regained conscious and felt bad. Even though the trigger for the kiss was due to jealousy, YALL THE WAY HE KISSED HER!! I LOVE EM!
CH 19: Yoonsik seems very tender, he tends to put his hand on Taerin a lot, even on her waist while kissing her. Can't keep his hands off of her. I also love the tension between them, they have a funny chemistry which I really like. Also minor detail but during the shopping shoot, notice how both Taerin and Yoonsik are easily able to take control. I believe it's due to how confident they are, meanwhile their exes are so insecure that they fall submissive and don't do anything. I think their confidence make them a good couple.
CH 20: DIFFERENCE IN CONFIDENCE VS INSECURITY!!! Notice how Kyungmoo looks slightly bothered with Taerin and the other guy, as if he has no trust in her (sign of insecurity) meanwhile Yoonsik remained unbothered since he has trust in her. Reminder to how in the first few chapters, Kyungmoo was upset that Taerin wasn't jealous over girls DMing him bc he's insecure and wants to be fought for while Yoonsik doesn't like dealing with emotions like that and remains unbothered.
CH 22: Girl. Taerin, he asked about showering, what were you particularing thinking, blushing all cute like that. Also I really like the way they bicker, they behave as if they have been friends for years: the way Yoonsik warns her to not cross the line and her goofy hand touching over the line to provoke him is so funny. I love how in one scene, they look at each other seriously then the next is them being silly and making faces out of disgust. I love this type of dynamic the most. Cute detail, the way she scrunches her nose and he starts to ask her questions is sweet. I also love how she strengthens his resolve, he feels bad for grabbing Jooah instead of her so I think he asked the question to see if she was still mad at him or regrets coming with him however it's clear that she isn't holding that against him anymore and is still willing to work together for their goal of revenge.
CH 23: Lmfaooo the difference between them. The way Taerin has so many friends while Yoonsik prefers to keep to himself, opposites attract. Not him trying to describe his first impression of Taerin for the person he hates. These two rlly are enemies to lovers. I love how oblivious she is or how she forgot that he hated her for a while, LOL. Anyway Taerin's unintentional clapback was gold. She called Yoonsik out on his flaw for misunderstandings her and jumping to conclusions. At least he seemed guilty there. I love how much energy Taerin has while Yoonsik seems so chill, I think their personalities compliment each other. ALSO, from the minor action of him itching the back of his neck on the previous chapter, how attentive and caring fashion student Taerin instantly knew he had eczema and took action to make him wear things better for his skin. It shows how caring but determined she really is about her career/hobby, she truly is going to be the best designer. I like how she enjoys picking his clothes and he lets her do it without getting angry like a certain Kyungmoo did due to his insecurity. Anyway notice how their outfits are matching: Yoonsik is wearing white pants which match Taerin's white blazer while she's wearing black that suits his black jacket. Subtle power couple.
CH 24: The way he looks at her in the car. He finds her fascinating enough to constantly have his eyes on her, Sir are you not mistaking hate for love The way Yoonsik said all that shamelessly and Taerin is like "There he goes again." He really could be an actor. I love how Yoonsik couldn't care less about the MTBI while Taerin brings it up The way she scolds him when he lies is cute. AGAIN, YOONSIK IS VERY ATTENTIVE: Taerin ets nudged by the crowd outside and he puts a protective arm as a barrier for her to not get hurt, even if it risked them losing points, he still wants her to be safe.
CH 25: For neighbours, I think we've seen more of Yoonsik at Taerin's house then we have at his. It seems the power couple can BOTH act, what good actors. I couldn't tell but in one of the frames where Kyungmoo yells at Taerin, it looks like Yoonsik was standing inbetween to distance them. Either way, he still stood close to protect his girl.
CH 26: Yoonsik generally seems to feel bad for Taerin when she starts crying as shown by his face in the zoom-in shot, I think he finally realized that could sympathise with her pain, even if it the truth was slightly blurred with a little lie. The way he goes to follow after her and check on her after she walks out. The way Taerin wanted to touch Yoonsik to let him talk with Jooah, it shows her natural caring nature.
CH 29: Development is great! The way Taerin at first thought Kyungmoo was more attractive before admiring Yoonsik and realized he's more handsome.. babygirl, you threw away dirt and struck gold!!
CH 30: It seems the main couple have both find each other attractive. The way Yoonsik is the one to admire Taerin's beauty in this chapter and not compare her is sooo sweet. It's very rude to compare people so I think Yoonsik was more mature to not answer that question regardless of who he said however what he said afterwards about Taerin being the prettiest woman for him so far is sooo.. UGH, MY HEART!!! Her reaction too, she was completely surprised and caught off guard. Taerin won't admit she's slightly jealous, although anyone would be agitated with what Jooah is doing, taking Yoonsik away as if she hadn't ditched him first. ALSO.. DEVELOPMENT!! The way Yoonsik pushes Jooah away and rejects her motives.. he didn't deny Jooah's question about liking Taerin so it seems like he's starting to slowly like our FL.
CH 31: Aww.. the way Yoonsik looks out for Taerin and brought her a mug to help with her hangover is actually so, I'm going to cry yall.. For someone he claimed to hate at first, he's taking really good care of her. Also the way he told Jooah to her face that he prefers his current girlfriend and even got a little angry that she would even ask such a repulsive question.
I've kind of been speculating their plan recently and I think I understand where their original plan was going which was to slowly ruin Kyungmoo and Jooah.
Step 1.
Attend Couple Breaker and use to alias swapped couple to make it pretty clear to the live audience that they got cheated on. Not only do a lot of people tend to like that drama on reality TV but it brings attention.
Step 2.
Flirt with their exes as if nothing happened while still pretending to be in a relationship. It will make the exes realise what they left and missed out on and also feel envy/jealousy.
Step 3.
Expose the fact that they cheated. The audience is now aware so their fame is pretty tarnished, even if they win the game show, everyone will know Jooah and Kyungmoo as cheaters. People at school might even bring light to justice like they did by spreading the fact that Jooah and Yoonsik dated.
Step 4.
The idea is to make the blond couple slowly feel guilt and regret cheating. Reminding them of what they had done and the pain they caused along. The scene where Taerin tells Kyungmoo that he generally hurt her, will make him reflect and think about that.
Step 5.
Act as if they are going to give them another chance, by flirting and getting close. This is setting them up because with their level of insecurity, not only will Jooah and Kyungmoo start to trust each other less and feel both envious but they will grow feelings for them again. As seen by the second dates during the show, Taerin reminds Kyungmoo of the fun playful relationship they had which he missed since Jooah doesn't pick his clothes nor take him shopping. Meanwhile Yoonsik is showing that he pays attention to details by encouraging Jooah to eat more since he used to be concerned about her eating disorder, she will feel touched that he still remembers those things about her and worried about her health when Kyungmoo was busy encouraging her to get surgery in a earlier episode. Taerin and Yoonsikk aren't doing all of this out of genuine feelings, but more so make the two realise that they aren't as happy as they were when dating them.
Step 6.
Create a rift. Taerin purposefully gets Kyungmoo to remember the good times as a way to provoke him to cheat/ditch Jooah. Not doing it for the mission this time, she tricks him into thinking that she will take him back which may give him the idea to break Jooah's trust and cheat which she deserves. With Yoonsik.. I think he was also supposed to do something similar with Jooah but I think he's starting to realize that she's really awful and trying too hard which is making him uncomfortable. I couldn't tell if he purposely pushed her advances away as part of the plan (playing hard to get or if he is trying to give her mixed signals. From what I personally think, I think he's trying to get her to become the desperate and flirty one, rejecting her so she can be the one to take more action. Bc while he's aware Jooah is insecure and overthinks, I don't think he intentionally tried to make her feel angry about not hugging her to get the game show points since he seemed really out of it during that scene. Works out anyway, hate her and karma feels good.)
Potential next steps???
I think the end goal is to give Kyungmoo and Jooah false hope. Seeing how Taerin is in the lead with the most points in the game show, I think their plan is to not only win the game show but cause a rift of trust and intimacy between Jooah and Kyungmoo, having them fall in love with their original lovers and regret leaving them. They will go begging back, asking for a second chance which is when Taerin and Yoonsik will both coldly reject them (breaking their hearts the same way the blond couple did when they cheated) So the revenge not only damages their reputation and also their relationship. Seems like a pretty effective plan to drag someone down to the lowest if completed right.
Be warned however, I think this was the inital plan both Yoonsik and Taerin had but it may change as the two may develop feelings for one another and start to feel remorse along the way as soon by episodes 30-32+, it seens Yoonsik is starting to gain feels for Taerin and she also finds him more attractive. Either way, I'm excited and can't wait for the revenge.
We finally got Nora admitting he likes Shuli
Anyway to explain Jeremy's feelings, he loved Shuli in both 1st and 2nd timeline since he couldn't see her as a mom but as a poor woman forced to play house. He pushed her away in 1st timeline when she brought up his marriage since it meant she clearly didn't reciprocate his feelings. Second timeline, due to Elias and the incest rumors, Jeremy ends up hiding his feelings for her and never acts on them. He holds a special respect for Shuli since despite all her struggles, she takes care of everyone. So don't worry about possible incest or Jeremy acting on said feelings, it's just him having a crush and learning to overcome it. I feel like it was handled a lot better here then other stories with incest stepfamiles and it isn't excused nor allowed.
Idk how I feel about Aaron.. at first he felt like a doormat ML who the FL uses to her advantage while he lacks any personality or characterization except for plot convenience but now... he's become somewhat clingy that it's infuriating. Like bro rejected and ditched her, why are you obsessing over her when it was YOU who did all that. He's a SO stupidly dense that it hurts. It's cutely funny but annoying at the same time I want her to treat him formally/coldly or ignore him so he can regret it even more. He's not a bad person or anything.. just VERY confused.
Anyway the plot is getting interesting, finally learning more about the witches and Anita's plan.

Like many have said, this is beyond the most CLICHE of villainess stories. Typical green tea step-sister who pretends to be a saint but is actually a real villainess while the MC was a victim who decides to get revenge, not rlly making her a villain since she's protecting and defending herself. ML was a bit annoying, classic case of the "she isn't like other girls, I like it." Her father truly is a scumbag, cheating on his wife and neglecting his children, the villainess is a product of his bad parenting bc he spoiled her too much. Although it's cliche and predictable, it is interesting and the art is pretty beautiful so can't wait!
Oh wait- Japanese mangas love to take MONTHS to bring ONE chapter so maybe I will forget about this story considering we are only at chapter 12 and it's 1 year old

People are so funny.. had this webtoon been genderbent, you would've all HATED the FL and found her disgusting for her actions. The plot literally makes so sense, she's becoming a nasty tyrant who roams around like a proud prostitute. Nothing screams girl boss about her because there's no depth to her character at all. Nothing in this story is good.. maybe the outfits which are a bit controversial. But people will support these kinds of degrading stories because "hot fictional men"

At first, I could handle their relationship from how ridiculous it was. The author tries too HARD to make the bottom's life miserable that I can't even feel bad for him anymore. The top's attitude seemed annoyingly funny which I could handle. But the r@pe??? No. Nooooo. NO. This story is soo bad, the only redeeming quality is the art which is a shame. Ofc this is the same author who wrote BJ Alex, why does that not surprise me. Why do you people love to make toxic stories so popular yet the healthy lovely ones with a included good depth of writing are always drowned out?? I cba to keep reading BL anymore, its all the same garbage.

Don't waste your time. It's a heinous story about grooming and abuse with the groomer trying to "make it right" by killing a murderer. Honestly felt sick reading this.
Very cliche plot. Typical neglectful abuse family with a sister who loves to lie a lot and a pushover FL who finally had enough of being a doormat and stood up for herself. Extremely cliche contractual marriage plot of her marrying into a high family name that has their own drama. Honestly reminded me of Lucia mixed with all the other cliche wicked sister isekais. Art isn't necessarily bad, it's pretty and amazing tbh, just a little bland and not ideal but it does the job. Honestly.. the characters just feel like bland cliches that have no character to them, it's everything you've read before in one book. Only upside is that we haven't met any characters with black hair and red eyes so YESSSSSSSS!!!
