I get that he’s not a regular dad. That he’s got mental issues that cause him to be irrational. But ffs, that doesn’t mean he can do whatever he wants! Get him in therapy! Or medicated! Plenty of people have personality or mental disorders but you know what they do? They get professional help so they don’t hurt the people they love.

Psychopath isn’t the right word because he doesn’t have episodes of psychosis, but it’s true he doesn’t think anything is wrong. Which is EXACTLY WHY everyone else needs to be holding him accountable and making him seek treatment, instead of ignoring and enabling.
Tbh I’m more pissed at her mom? Because she knows her ex husband is not a good person; I’m assuming that’s why they divorced. But she just watches as he beats and manipulates their daughter even after years have passed. Like? That’s your child too, lady??? Be a good mom for once.

While I know Charlotte is smart and desperate, I’m still thinking how Anisa saved Charlotte and now is being put on the butchering block. Also, it’s probably not that smart either because you can tell Anisa isn’t poor by her clothes. That’s very different from scamming a peasant girl, so like if the slave dude had enough sense he’d be like nah I’ll just take you.

YES. And charlotte putting anisa on the butchering block whilst probably knowing that anisa comes from a strong family with siblings who DEEPLY care about her and would most definitely come after charlotte for doing so, is really not the best idea. If anything, i dont think that what she did was smart at all for yelling out her “bad” intentions and putting anisa on the spot like that. She made it so that she couldnt cover up her “intent” to hurt anisa from anyone who charlotte assumes will be there to protect her from hearing that. Or even from anisa herself who will now hold charlotte in a bad light for doing that.
I don’t expect Astalieu to be on Firentia’s side or anything but god would it be nice if at least one of these two idiots could grow up to be a decent adult. And Astalieu isn’t outright mean, he’s the type to follow and listen to the strong without a second thought. So maybe, just maybe, he’s still young enough that he can break from Balzac and become his own person.
