For Andrew, I think I kind of understand the feeling he may be experiencing right now but that's still something he needs to work on. It'll do them no good in the long run. It’s normal to want your significant other to get along with other people in your life. That would be ideal, but it doesn't always work that way in reality. There is good reason why a lot of people stop hanging out with their friends after they have a significant partner. It's just the nature of having to prioritize one over the other. You can count yourself lucky if you have family, friends, and lover all getting along with no issue, because the chance of that happening is very slim.
Wanting is completely different than forcing. Personally I’d love for my partner to get along with my friends, but I’d hate it EVEN MORE to force them to get along WHILE KNOWING how miserable it makes either of them feel. And it doesn’t seem like he’ll have to cut off either since they’re both part of his day-to-day life.
