There's definitely a big part we are still missing. From Soo-wons memory we can see that King Ill wasn't afraid for his daughter's safety, instead he was sure that Yona wouldn't die and she would be the cause of Soo-wons death. He knew something that hasn't been revealed yet. Could also be the reason he became king and not his older brother.
