Bro HOW is this man the ML he's such an asshole
Asks her to come to him for help and then rejects her when she's clearly in so much distress that she's resorted to begging?? Reminded me of all those unhappy marriage couple scenes in media where the wife is always suffering and the husband doesn't care.
This is not love, there is no respect he just wants a claim to her.

It starts off great and you can really feel the pain the MC goes through. But then it takes on this odd tone that just doesn't fit the story being told.
It's like the author had good ideas, but didn't know how to execute them.
I kept reading in the hopes we will get what we had in the first few chaps but dropped it after (possible spoiler) that grandpa died for no reason other than forced angst
I get the "princess" is a boy but what was that bit at the end? Does he have an older brother? Is he pretending to be both prince and princess?
Sounds like the second one with whatever male form means, but it doesn't make sense. Why would he need a female form if he's already a prince??
Maybe the empress don't want her son to enter the battle for the throne if in case the consort pregnant with a boy since the emperor favor her so she make her son wear dress.
i think the mother wants them to both be alive?
I dunno if it's also in this story but mostly if two men are born in a high rank family, both should fight to be determine who the heir will be, and even if the brothers don't want to they have to, because it needs to be determined who is the winner either a smart move or a deadly move (basically strong or smart, hahaha lol du get what I'm explaining I'm not really good in it hahahha) but the Empress wants to protect them both so our little Male lead is gonnu be a pretending to be a girl. Leo (our fl ) would actually be friends with him, it's according to the spoilers i read haha
That's All! hope you get it hahaha
Regarding the "male form". In the kr ver, the "princess" addressed his brother as "hyung-nim" which is a way to address an older male if you're a boy. I think the transaction group wanted to emphasize on that...
I have not read the novel but given by the preview of the older brother in the latest chapter, i think the brother is the son of the emperor while the "princess" is not..... maybe that's why the empress wants to protect him
oh that makes sense! having the (male form) in there was so confusing lol they should have just kept the hyung-nim in, and have a t/n explain it since it's a plot point.
Thank you for explaining the kr version! That makes so much sense. Don't know why they didn't just use hyung, the english language isn't really made for this.
So I'm gonna assume he has an older brother then.
