OMG, Yes. I agree with previous commenter. I still enjoy the anime a lot, but whoooa boy, did they fuck that up :P I'm also salty that my favourite story arc doesn't even exist in the anime, and my favourite character gets.... ?5 minutes? screen time while the story arc he is central to is one of the longest ones in the manga.

What he really needs is not to be bounded to either Truth or False. Being a False he can lie about the incident, but he also risks being exposed if the police presses for more information, information that can be confirmed. He needs 100% control of the situation, the ability to lie at will.
