I wanted to have this manga longer so badly. The characters' personalities were already established and I was really hoping they could've expanded the story a lot more. I mean it's too bad it ended because it had a lot of potential to make an even longer series with this considering that the seme seems to be a playboy and the tsundere uke that is still trying to understand love and whatnot.
It's cute and all but I kept on wanting more since the characters itself could've been presented further and their life as a 'couple' would've been a great continuation. Just look at 'Fushidara Hanimatsu...', one of the examples of a manga that did not let the characters go to waste and continued on with their story as lovers and we got to realize more about them and the people around them.

Are you talking about this manga or is any other

Honestly I really love the story but on the case of the characters, it's completely up to you on what you're supposed to feel about them.
For me, John was neither a bad or a good guy to me. First of all, he has the tendency to lash out easily and pent up his anger to others even in the case of when Seraphina was unconscious, he wasn't dealing right with his emotions.
At that point, I knew that John was not handling his situation correctly but I could mostly blame it to Arlo, who triggered this whole thing and because of that John began to learn that beginning to trust anyone (other than ser) would just backstab him at the end. He didn't want the same thing happen to him, so he became wary of people, distrust them and became more violent.
The only person keeping him together is Ser (and maybe his dad) but the thing is he couldn't care less about other people as long as he can protect Ser, leading him to basically showing what he can do while still putting up a facade to Ser and the rest of the school as a cripple.
Also just gonna say the fact that Arlo was a total ass but I do feel that he has a point about protecting Ser, John can do it if he wanted to but he's still scared of what Ser would think of him but just as Arlo said, he shouldn't hold responsible of one's life to others.
And well yeah that's basically what he did and decided to beat the living hell out of the people who messed with Ser. I'm conflicted to the fact that he's trying to help Ser and he cares for her than anybody else but he's still willing to trample anyone who gets in their way and because of that there's nobody who's in their side.
But most importanly the thing that pisses me off the most is the caste or the hierarchy. It's basically the backbone of this story, the concept of it changes the whole thing and why I'm more intrigued of what could possibly be a conclusion to this complicated world.
