Imagine, you're an orphan kid who's raised by the church and you meet someone who is kind to you and you appreciate them a lot. Then, you get adopted and that person gets murdered so, fo repay her kindness you decide to periodically give money to her child.
Time passes and the kid mets you and he want you to "raise" him. After that, the kid grows feelings for you and out of pure pity and manipulation you end up without the possibility to say "no" to the kid. After some time, the kid stabs you literally.
In the meantime you discovered that the person that adopted you and helped you get a life is the one who killed that first person. Furthermore, your adopted mother and the killer got cancer. Pretty messed up imo.
Time passes and you got kidnapped by the same kid you wanted to help. The kid manipulates, rapes and stab you.
You wanted to so something good to repay a good person.
