Mother was pregnant and married Snake dad. She lost the baby and gave birth to snakes children. Eckley and he both had green eyes so she was going to pass off the baby as his when it was Eckleys. I thought snake dad was going to be killed bc she was actually Eckleys child but then her brother would have died too (as part of traitor's line)
The novel never really explained if he was reason behind Eckleys banishment and if he married her because he loved her or saw her as way to move up in aristocracy.
it started really good but after yamada got into uni, they just kept on adding and adding girl characters to make akane jealous. its repetitive and really annoying to read!!!!!
