It’s the ML stepmom a.k.a duchess adler, she want to get rid ML and claim the adler household it might some like revenge as she actually a spy from foreign country (someone said that ML father killed the stepmom father) they also want to claim right the mining right that can be used as a tools for war
Andddd the ML butler (forgot his name) actually also the spy that work together with the duchess
For when will she stop suspecting the duke i don’t know when since in the novel it would take longer for her to realizes that ML was innocence and found out that the real killer was the duchess

Im shaking my head so hard. You can already tell from hints in the story that this might be it but bc FL is a dumbass mascarading as a detective it's played like hur dur what a mystery while she keeps susing out ML even though she admitted to herself already that her suspicions are unreasonable. At least that's the vibe for me and I'm currently on ch.40

Right? I feel like her suspicion on ML was kind of stupid but the duchess also playing a big role here since she want to make it that our ML was the killer (so i can’t really blame FL) but seriously there is a lot of hint and prove that ML was innocent yet FL keep doubting him, it kind of unfair since ML was geniune to her :(

I can’t really point it out since i already forget about it (yes i have a gold-fish memory *sob*), but the most biggest hint that i’m sure he is innocent was when she pointed out that he can’t stand the smell of blood, and we can see how he keep fainting at the smell of the blood
While being a killer (tho it’s not always through violent way) it was impossible to begin with if you have that conditions, even for me even tho i wear a mask i can still smell a blood… well still it was based my own observation lolol it could be wrong but the spoiler told me that i was right and the serial killer was someone else

been a while since I read this too, but there's that what kuroi said + hints about ML's mom or "someone" being out for his ass + mentions of her being from another country after FL explained how there's gonna be something-something I forgot; war or smth with that nation.
And the picture slowly pieces itself together, while FL seems to only ever suspect ML because of one sentence she clapped her eyes on in the dumbass summery of some story she never read.

Prosecutors are different from detectives, and lead less of crime investigation appearances than it is often confused with.
Prosectors deal with the law side (presenting evidence and explaining why they should/not be convicted - detectives, they investigate the details of crime.
Prosecutors do not usually do interrogations or infiltrations. That's a police related job.
The author has amalgamated multiple roles and FL keeps insisting she's a prosecutor which pisses me off a bit, but it is what it is ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

If that's your standard for a learned prosecutor promise me you'll never go vote.
She admitted to herself already that her suspicions of him have no real ground to stand on yet still acts like he'll open the nine gates of hell on her. There are evidence and puzzle pieces for his innocence all round, but she'd doddling around like any typical FL protag bc the author has no clue how to write smart people. She's as valid as my expired gym club membership of 2022.

Maybe!
I would probably try justify it internally by pointing out her harsh internal bias (since she sincerely believes in her book)
And unconscious anxiety and suspicions that comes with unfamiliarity in a new world.
No astounding logical revelations to me, and the art is carrying but it's not that bad I guess.

Novel readers can you spoil me?
I'm kinda on team dad and cheering for him to have a redemption arc but will that happen?

Hi!
Well I read the novel not to long ago and to be honest for me at least the emperador never redime himself. To give you and example (it would have spoilers):
Spoiler alert:
The emperator gifted dorothea with presents and even celebrate a birthday party for her (even though it’s the same say the empress died, and he has never hold a party for dorothea before). But he still considere her more like a royal who has to accomplish her duties instead of a daughter. Following the example, the emperator started involving her in her royal duties at the parlament and such and refused her relationship with Ethan. Even paying Ethan an amount of money to leave Dorothea (so personally I still can’t stand Dorothy’s father).

I understand why he is such an incompetent father, it seems there is no one to hit the emperor in the back and tell him he's doing a sh*t job as a father... Also some people actually get ptsd from something like the birth of a child ou the death of a loved one because of how things happened so when he lost his wife, to be able to deal with it, he focused his mind on how make their family properous again. But still, even if that didn't happen, he would still be a crapy father

In all honesty I'm on team aiden or at least the prince. Josh is alright but he's just way to close to family for us, like your sister married his uncle like alright it might not be direct blood but you yourself said that you wanted to marry someone with enough money and blah blah blah idc if josh is endgame I'll just rewrite it in my head to either aiden or prince
When helios slowly turned towards di**a that was pure and peak cinema like I lived for that
I love how you censored the btch’s name ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
