Trash ML has at least one redeeming quality. The MC isn't mind-bogglingly dumb and the Queen is not a petty nuisance.
There are characters to cheer for and understandable goals/motivations. Not all authors unstable how to make stuff like this interesting to read.
Honestly though, I quite like how the story is well done fucked up yea but it sticks to that. No point in adding unnecessary things like other try so hard to do.
