Im at chapter 19 rn and my theory is they're looping through time and everytime the brown haired guy dies the timeline gets reseted. But black haired guy is the only one who still remember everything. He's also aging unlike other characters that would explain his dark circles and the scars on his body.

It’s refreshing to see mono lids emphasized here as normal. I have seen authors (Korean and Japanese) depict characters in their works that have mono lids as “unattractive” or the opposite of the standard “attractive” character with the big, double lid looking eyes, unnatural hair colors and etc.
