Same I don’t remember anything

kayy just did a reread lol. the long and short of it is

yashiro and doumeki run into each other while looking for a guy named yamakawa. he owes money to both the Sakuraikka (the yakuza group doumeki is now part of) and yashiro's underground casino business (i think). they decide to look for him together and split the money he owes both groups.

when they find yamakawa, he says that actually, he was just being used by this guy named kido, who is being backed by some really scary guys.

so now they gotta go find kido. but when they find kido, he says that Actually yamakawa has the money after all, and that yamakawa is working with a street gang called Ryuzu.

turns out, ryuzu is affliated with a yakuza group called the Okuyamagumi, and they've got old beef with sakuraikka (domeki's group) which means that this has become personal.

the beef was around the succession to lead the sakuraikka. in the present day, sakuraikka's head is tsunakawa. he inherited the group from his father. but his father initially wanted another guy, okuyama, to inherit instead. when tsunakawa took over anyway, okuyama took some guys and made his own group. many years later, and about a year before the present time, okuyama used ryuzu to kidnap tsunakawa's daughter.

now they're back to looking for yamakawa + ryuzu. sakuraikka don't really want yashiro to be a part of this, but he doesn't let them edge him out, ostensibly because he wants the money.

yamakawa and ryuzu have gone into hiding. but doumeki does find okuyama. when tsunakawa goes to confront him, he find okuyama laid up in a hospital with a serious case of cancer. okuyama says that he has nothing to do with all of this, and the real antagonist is a guy named Kai.

next, yashiro (i'm pretty sure) causes a fire in the building where yamakawa is basically being held hostage by ryuzu. yamakawa escapes in the commotion just in time for yashiro to scoop him up. yashiro shakes yamakawa down for money, then lets him go be free.

yashiro takes his share of the money and brings the rest back to sakuraikka. but what sakuraikka Really Wants is yamakawa. yashiro knew this already, and he sells out yamakawa's location in exchange for taking all the money, rather than just his cut.

or something like that, i'm not 100%. regardless, yashiro mega pisses off sakuraikka and makes a pretty buck doing it.

as yashiro's group and doumeki's group part ways, a drive by shooting occurs. doumeki takes a bullet for yashiro, instead of jumping to protect his actual boss. (big no-no.) it's implied the shooting was done by ryuzu because they want to take down sakuraikka before the captured yamakawa leaks intel, but it hasn't been confirmed yet

this became a very long summary. and it doesn't even cover the heaven sent angst that is yashiro and doumeki's relationship ლ(´ڡ`ლ)

It does sound odd for people with cultures that dont normally use these terms lmao, just think of it with an open mind

In the raws he calls him sunbae which is a lot more natural. For some reason they keep localizing it to Mr. Kang in English which just doesn’t work.

I wish they kept it as "sunbae" ToT
