I think it’s because he initially started liking him because he was his ideal type a “petite” softy boy from what he saw. But once their relationship started getting more intimate Tae realized Xinlu was far from that. which suprised him I guess and he wasn’t really going for that and was disappointed, it was like he was hiding another personality or hidden side of him.Unlike Ilay everyone knows he’s a vicious person and has a shitty personality so tae knew what he was getting himself into, technically he had no choice tho..

I don't know if I am an idiot and failed to understand what's happening but is Scrooge really empathizing with this freak. Like is he really trying to understand his perspective. And why is the narrative ignoring the rape element and just normalizing it instead of making it a reason of hatred to the little shit.

I think Scrooge is influential enough to tell everyone what the Prince is doing and like dethrone him or something. But he obviously won't do that because he's sympathetic about that little freak.
I think that Scrooge doesn't want to accept the love of the Prince and what he said about "use me until your heart goes cold" meant that he will stay by his side but won't accept his feelings so he can reach his goal of retiring. Scrooge won't try dethroning the Prince bc he's his teache and made it possible for him to be in the position he's in now. What matters to him now is to endure the "torture" as the "villain" of the story so when Prince gets bored he can go and retire to live a peaceful life and forget about everything like the Prince and "original story".
Full offense but the prince hasn’t done anything to show that he loves him, he’s kept him here against his will, beat and raped him when things don’t go his way. What he has isn’t love.
I fuly agree and Scrooge's "use me until your heart goes cold" can refer to the lust of Prince. Scrooge feels responsibility for Prince as his elder who looked after him for x years. I would be disapointed if they end together but I know this is what is gonna happen :(
