In the Novel, Athy finds a book and it’s sucked inside. It’s supposed to be the original novel she had read. Inside the novel, she meets the original Athanasia who is miserable, the Jeannette that is being loved by all, and the Cold heartless Claude. The manhwa is not following the novel anymore, so I don’t know if any of this will be included.

Anastacius is probably possessed by the ancient Emperor Aethernitas that used black magic to enhance his own life span, by sucking the magic out of all of his descendants. Lukas says at the beginning of the Novel, that magicians have becomes rare in the Empire, and specially in the Royal Family, which is weird since they are unusually powerful and most monarchies have lost of nobles with some royal blood. There’s none but Athy and Claude because Aethernitas sucked all of their magic.
Since the Anastacius does NOT appear on the novel, and the antagonist in the novel is someone else, it seems like in the Manhwa, Aethernitas possessed the body of Anastacius after he died. In the novel, he reencarnated into another guy, that was unrelated to the royal family, so I don’t know how this will play out.
There’s a gap in that theory- Lucas has been asleep for 200+ years, hence why he couldn’t name Claude as the current emperor because he slept during emperor aethernitas’s time. That means Lucas couldn’t have known that “magicians have become rare in the royal family” and that statement would only apply to the the ancestors of aethernitas. If fact wouldn’t that statement just say “all the previous emperors before aethernitas was weak and didn’t have any magic until him (aethernitas)”?
I think he meant there should be more people of royal descent with magic. Like cousins and nephews of the Emperors.
