also it kinda irks me that some people in the comment section say this is a toxic relationship. if you think all relationships should be strict on rainbows and butterflies trope, then you better don't dig into bdsm or you'd be flipped. bdsm is different from torture and abuse because it has consent from two parties. most likely, the relationship between goro and shoto is a dom-sub/master-pet, and those punishments are part of their play. shoto is clearly a masochist, you could see from some panels that he likes to be punished. we still don't know how their relationship works fully but it seems goro got another girl (and shoto acknowledges this) bcs no one knows what would happen if the media made his rls with shoto a scandal. also, if he didn't care any bit, he wouldn't buy packs of medicines and vitamins and reminds shoto to eat. he even offered shoto to move out from that runny apartment to a better place

the serial killer on the first chapter is goro and i think it's interesting because we got to see serial killer who targets criminal as their victims. feels like some antihero from action movies

also this is my personal take but i think il-mo doesn't kill random people and just targeting to rude and misbehaved pricks then make them his material to the novel. he captured jeong-yeon, and maybe just maybe, that one victim in previous chapters who was begging to ah-in, actually really rude to his mother

i think the corpse lewellyn kept in his house when they have had first dinner together has correlation with their past in prison. maybe he's a person that sent by wards to drag either lewellyn nor shavonne back to that place. because if what they did in that prison leaked to the mass, people would accuse the tops--if it happened the government was behind it. did lewellyn kill people out of his pure desire? i doubt that

"if i want to kill people as i want, i'd also hug and kiss you when i want to." remember this line? so serial killing lewellyn committed might have reason and that reason is to save shavonne. why the murders always happen around ira street? because those people might has located their living place and tried to capture them

shavonne's doctor friend somewhat is a key for all this mysteries. he befriended shavonne not for nothing but to get informations. maybe shavonne has gone crazy and he's supposed to be a patient in mental hospital? or turns out he was the one who's responsible to the serial murder--but he did it without realizing? and lewellyn didn't want shavonne getting captured, so he always stalking him, checking all mails that he received, because he's worried if those people deceived shavonne with the name of publishers

lewellyn been knew that shavonne's exes were people that getting paid for being his contract lovers. but those exes ended up falling in love so they couldn't stay too long and the last one decided to take revenge because shavonne wounded his pride

actually i have no interest over triangle love but seems like it's unavoidable huh, even the cover explains it lol. but if i had to pick side, i definitely want jinwoo just end up with alex. there was dub-con sexual acts that alex did but this far he's a bit better than dave, ngl i'd be kinda disappointed if the endgame is dave x jinwoo

honestly this story reminds me of "what's your daddy" due to the lack of communication and its historical kingdom setting lol. jace looks like a separated sibling of shin from "king's maker" though

there's plenty i want to write about the series;

-this story has a neat story-telling as it keeps changing point of view from third person to either lewellyn and also shavonne, but it doesn't confuse or makes you bored because the pace is enjoyable. it's thrilling!

-the characters are really unique. i think it's my first time finding a serial killer with such strange obsession to fucking onions? and what's about his speech? don't you think sometimes lewellyn could get too sarcastic even if he's always right? it feels like he lacks symphaty in his choice of words--we still don't know whether he didn't get proper education or it's just the way he is, but he's clearly not stupid plus he seems to know hanakotoba so well (when he wants to gifting shavonne a thing)

-although they made a conversation about the serial murder that happened in their neighborhood, tbh i kinda have doubt if lewellyn is the real suspect. he's very suspicious, but what's his motive if he was indeed the killer? what's his actual job truthfully? before they both being acquintances, what he did was only peeling onions all day. from where he got the money omg

-and those letters, too. yeah, shavonne's ex has been caught red handed as the stalker, but later when shavonne acknowledges mr newell is in fact lewellyn since begin with, doesn't it mean lewellyn was basically bribing him because shavonne basically penniless. and shavonne, who's afraid of being lonely, has come to accepting lewellyn's feeling because he just doesn't want to end up alone. but what if those flirty notes were sent by lewellyn? (note that i'm still on 27th chapter so maybe these questions would have answer in next chaps)

-anyway that one panel where lewellyn being captured in a prison, is that a dream or reality? why shavon being the prison ward??? or is that supposed to be their past???

i meant, where's the wrong? bad person doesn't always mean they would treat you bad if they become your lover. the way a person treat another people is based on their personal experiences and judgements. but if your lover is bad, then that's certain he's a bad person. like shevon's friend said, everyone has a bad side; the only difference is whether they're bad to you, or not

ps; lewellyn is clearly not a bad lover. he's always asking consent before he touches shevon. i find it cute( ≧Д≦)

so this is my personal take but maybe the jinx is not really real, things that happened with haegyeong's past flings and exes were just coincidences after all. remember when his glasses ex kissed his ex fiancee and haegyeong saw them? he clearly cheated on haegyeong since long time ago, but only get caught not long after they both kissed while making love. and ever since before that, he didn't know what kind of people he met. maybe he was really unlucky and keep getting shit partners?

it ended up with haegyeong feels like all his failed relationship has a correlation with woojin, thus he jinxed it. and woojin who's still like him over the years couldn't let go of his first love misunderstood that haegyeong tried to cut their ties one-sidedly

about woojin, i saw people commenting that it's his mistake haegyeong ended up like this and while it's okay to dislike his character, rather than addressing that it's his fault for not stand up for haegyeong, it's maybe his posessiveness you should hate. great chance that he didn't know what happened with haegyeong and his granpa

i think their relationship won't end up at the bad term if society amongst them didn't despise homosexuality that much. while i don't think the gramp was right for threatening haegyeong's family, his motive is kinda understandable if you look it from another point of view. he was a political figure, and in the past his belated son aka the uncle was getting a backlash just because a photo from his past (man) lover getting leaked. from what we see, haegyeong's family also seems accepting, and the brother been knew there was a thing between his childhood friend and his sibling

ps; actually woojin kinda reminds me of the red head from love or hate, but once when i wrote my opinion there i was getting hate but woojin obviously better than that red head

is it just me or do you guys also getting confused about yibon and their agency ceo because both characters' appearance look like twins??? they both have red eyes and long, semi-wavy black hair so the first time i saw yibon and she explicitly said dojin and her were past lover i got confused??? if they're really the same person then why she called dojin and yuwon oppa? dojin is maybe older than yuwon but how tf she also called yuwon oppa? how does their age order???

i also remember one panel when yuwon had a flashback over his first time meeting dojin in the basement. didn't he walk with their female ceo whose appearance look really similar with yibon???
