It was implied (if i understand it correctly) that he was not the real father. It's more like a stranger taking in some poor kid that was homeless. Though he has addiction, the uke was grateful for picking him up that's why he was attached and was willing to sign the contract.
Kinda pitiful since he's developing stockholm syndrome for the seme cause all he wants is a home.
