Really good.... Though it was an ending I didn't expect. I was really curious to see Aoi's (human) face, but got disappointed at the end.

Sooo, I still don't understand the thing with dogs. Why is Chase still afraid of them. I initially thought that it was because Grayson told Chase that he spent his rut with a dog so he was traumatized. Is that not the case? Is he simply afraid of dogs?

If I remember correctly, his very first rut ended up badly. He got locked in a room with their family dogs and didn't know what to do. He got anxious and the dog really excited for seeing him. He kept calling his older siblings for help but no one came to save him. And the dog was killed.

It was mentioned in the earlier chapters that he was previously tossed aside by Rosie in 3 years after she claimed Mikael. It's likely he suffered some form of negative effects after getting tossed aside post-imprint (eg. depression etc). Or he went back to being a guard but with PTSD from all the SA he received from Rosie. But seeing as how the royal family treats their kind like toys Rosie may have lost him in a bet, had him fight other homoculi as a disposable pawn, or as mentioned by Haru above sent to do labor. It wasn't really elaborated since the focus shifted to Mikael and Rosie but yea. I don't think it he lived well after.

tbh yes unless your uncomfortable w the age gap but other than that the story is really good and it focuses more on the plot also ML is super refreshing for a yaoi ML cuz he actually acts like an adult HAHAHA
