I dropped this fucking story after painstakingly finishing season one of this stupid ass story, thinking, "jee, I wonder if it's gonna get any better..." with every passing chapter! I had really hoped the ridiculous rape would stop or that there would be progress somewhere, but there wasn't and so I wrote a fucking comment of how disappointing this ridiculous story is, and i'm sure it's the same for the person you called, "insufferable worst," feels the same way I do.
It's not about differentiating fiction from reality, not imposing "morals" on others, it's about a stupid ass story that was a complete waste of fucking time because it's, once again, fetishizer of rape, and overall a very bland story that I wanted to rip my eyelids out. This story has terrible characters, so far awful development, recycled bullshit. It had a great concept and idea, but it flopped.

this is one of my favorite manhwa's so for me the plot is 10/10 and the main couple is better than everyone else so i guess... 10/10, might just be me though (▰˘◡˘▰)

Definitely one of my favorite stories but it has themes of incest and rape so it’s sensitive for viewers 7/10 story

Okay, sounds like it's pretty good overall. It does seem like it's a very dense story full of plot. Which I'm pretty interested in due to the fact that I've been reading on these nonsensical ones without decent plot. I'm ready for a rich story.

Okay, a little update. I'm on chapter 45... WHAT IN THE ACTUAL!! HOLY FUCK THIS STORY IS SO DAMN INSANELY GOOD! I'M DISGUSTED, HORRIFIED, INTRIGUED, SAD... ANGRY!
I can't... I can't believe this insanity!

1.) Story Plot: 9/10. very intricate and melodramatic, deals with heavy topics like rape, systematic generational oppression, and redemption. it does become stagnant at a certain point, but the plot is picking up again.
2.) Main couple: 7/10. could be better. the author is giving their dynamic more development recently so i like them better now.
3.) Romance: 6/10. could be better. rating might change in the upcoming chapters due to increased romantic development.
4.) Uniqueness: 10/10. very very unique in the genre. many people find it addicting and i binged the whole thing within days despite the long and intensive chapters.
5.) Side characters: 5/10. i either don't care for them or hate them.
6.) Humor: 4/10. comedic moments are far and few inbetween due to the heavy subject matter.
7.) Angst: 11/10. gets very depressing and even traumatic. i recommend taking breaks inbetween.

So I'm close to chapter 100 and I started it today!

Oh, another thing about characters is I absolutely LOVE that so many characters have SO many layers. You peel each layer and it's painful. It's just layer after layer that each one is connected. It makes for SUCH great story telling. Especially Seth, Horus, Anubus, Isis are very complex.

I was saying that plot wise, it's very dense, compacted, so many layers after layer and each one is painful and it makes for EXCELLENT story telling.

Characters, I adore Seth. It saddens me that he's had such hardships and set backs. I love when stories make great character development, good or bad. I love when the reader is given that confliction where you can't condone the bad actions of characters, but you hate to see them suffer because of those layers I was talking about.
Isis makes a great contagonist. Orisis makes a great evil antagonist.
Is is just keeps digging her own grave, but where I am I can see that she CAN be redeemable. She's heading toward just evil villian at this point.
I love seeing characters have natural flaws and arent perfect. They make mistakes based on their beliefs and emotions, leading to consequences.

Romance, I LOVE slow burns. I read many danmei and many are slow burns. I love that this story is plot based and romance just naturally follows and develops as its carried through the waters of the plot. Horus... God... I just... He's great!

I can see what you mean by stagnant, humor wise where I'm at I find it so so funny that Seth is so hot headed, impulsive, but kind natured inside (tsundure.) I really like that he's so strong, both in will and physically. He's not a pushover, but life is really beating him down. He doesn't give up tho. He doesn't wallow in pity, his rage just grows. Lol.

oh yeah i definitely agree with you. horus is up there with seth as my favourite character and despite my complaint about romantic development, i appreciate how slow and drawn out and full of obstacles it is. i do wish that the author wouldn't throw so many men at seth (and yk ... have them take advantage of him lmao) but i think horus stands out as a solid love interest and rock for seth to lean on when all the rage and guilt get too much.

After some thought I think Jaeshin just wants to be next to Nok all the time (at least till Nok's death). If he went back to the underworld he probably couldn't be with him during the day. Maybe there are some limits how often he could go to the human world - like just to feed himself with yin energy. So once a 3 days? And he doesn't want that. If "the things are letf the same for now" he can stay in the human world all the time.
And remember he's hated this dog form so much, doesn't mind it now;)

It’s because there’s literally no rising action. There should be no reason 30 chapters into the story there’s no imminent threat or antagonist. It’s like we’re just watching the characters hang out.

I can’t even consider the romance the rising action because they’re basically already a couple, there’s nothing in the way of their romance.

I think it's also the fact that they quickly resolve a thing and leave no room for growth of the characters. There's hardly any climatic moment of the plot. And when things get quickly resolved they try to add another issue spontaneously, and handle it so quick. It's like having to many quickies in a relationship!

Also, the most interesting characters are so sidelined like the short haired AA girl and the leader of the guild, the female S esper, short haired muscly guy from the guild. Every single character apart from the main two are more interesting and that’s a huge issue with the writing.

Dude... That girl with the double powers or whatever was very random. It never went into more detail about that. It just doesn't give much about the side couple or even more so about the side characters enough to make the plot make sense.
I swear, this was written by a 19 year old woman with not a lot of experience with relationships and good story telling.
