i was feeling hurt but then i read the comments and somehow i cant help but laugh instead
i know people are gonna ride fukami hard and forgive him on this one but sorry i just couldn't take how fukami managed to make it all about himself. kaji out here spilling his heart about how his family situation made him insecure and the only thing fukami focused on was kaji saying he was pained? and the moment kaji wanted to clarify what he really meant, fukami is dismissing him at any chance he gets. really? i understand fukami has experienced where the other person felt in pain being with him and it must weigh on him too but he should've already learnt by then to value communication. all this time kaji has been making efforts to understand him and the time he said he wanna understand kaji and kaji does tell something about himself he doesn't fucking listen.
and somehow I already know some people here will make it seem like it's kaji's fault. fuck whoever does that tbh.
also i hate everybody who babies fukami and rides for him just because he's "aromantic" (allegedly)

kaji as a character has developed so much i really like him and i dont want him to suffer like this. when he tried to explain his feelings he got stopped by nothing... I just hope fukami will come to his senses before kaji leaves.
hopefully. i hope it doesn't develop into a situation where it's kaji who makes the effort to reach out. fukami needs some development too
Agreed, I don’t like the babying either. Even if Fukami is aro he sure knows better than to be this hurtful to Kaji. Like Kaji tells him he thinks he’s unlovable because his parents were neglectful. THEN Fukami confirms Kaji’s feelings of being unlovable by lying to him and acting like a coward. Nah nah nah Fukami better give Kaji a damn good apology and be grateful that Kaji is too nice not to forgive him. Also, if he really is aro and knows that Kaji wants a romantic relationship that he cannot provide/doesnt want he needs to speak up and have a discussion about their incompatibility. I know in a way Kaji is willing to compromise but it’s clearly not working for him the way things are.

preach preach PREACH. my god that moment kaji broke down actually hurt my very soul... and then fukami out here making his insecurities worse by leaving while kaji was begging him not to leave. that fucking hurts.
and yes this is why I've been saying that with the way things were going, it felt so destructive. although he's willing to compromise, kaji is still hoping it would develop romantically. it doesn't help that fukami is so allergic to communicating. all the best for them. hopefully author pulls it off nicely.
I know Kaji said he was ok with Fukami saying he couldn’t fall in love with him but he was definitely hoping that would change which isn’t healthy either but that’s a situation he put himself in. Yeah, Fukami is content to leave things as they are without communicating while Kaji is literally one sidedly holding up their relationship. I’m sure the author will wrap it up in a satisfying manner (fingers crossed)

also i dont know if yall realized but the characters here feel real as if they're actual living people. even the side characters like the granny and the wakagashira - even ririko (yeah she's shit but I could see people becoming like her especially that granny implied she was overprotective with her).
idk if you guys feel it as well but they're made with their own thoughts and actions in mind while making sense and aligning with their experiences. the author has mastered the "if i were this character, what would i do in this situation" and honestly not many authors can do that... most of the time in other works, characters do something superficially or one-dimensionally for the sake of moving the plot.
this one feels like we're experiencing what would happen if you throw in people of this character together instead of making the characters have personalities that conforms to the story the author wants to tell. the only other one i could think of right now that portrays the former well is skip and loafer.
yeah some characters do shit and questionable things but it's what also makes them human. BL as a whole has painted a lot of things super mega romantically and culminated audience that would ridicule any form of mistake some characters make, even minor ones, that some people immediately think a story is bad just because it portrays human emotions and actions accurately.

also im just hoping it's the young master who went to get meguru and she's not actually in danger...

that was... certainly a twist! to be honest, after he told his backstory where he always liked shougetsu i had an inkling it was him that airdropped the porn but then he said it was a form of harassments so i dropped the idea but well you see!
